HONORABLE MENTION: A.J. Cook

Sure, it was fun to see Criminal Minds: Evolution‘s JJ realize that “hungover” Emily was in fact high as a kite (and then get mellow herself after accidentally noshing on edibles). But what really mattered about the BFFs’ episode-long back-and-forth — and where A.J. Cook shined — was JJ asserting that she could handle the truth about BAUGate, and then urging Emily to not resign from the FBI. “The ones that came before us — Gideon, Hotch — what did they have in common? They left,” JJ reminded, whereas, “The two of us, we were kicked out.” And now, years later, “They’re gone; we’re still here.” With that and the words to come, Cook so effectively evoked the ladies’ rich history. “We are stronger than anyone gives us credit for,” JJ said. “I didn’t quit on you in Paris. You didn’t quit on me after my miscarriage… This job takes, a lot, but it gives me you.” And for that, we’re so glad. — Matt Webb Mitovich
Good choices, but I was hoping to see a mention for Emma D’Arcy or Olivia Cooke, who were great as always in this last episode of House of the Dragon. Although there are still five more weeks for them to get a mention.
It’s Performer of the …..week!
kind of weird Emma didn’t get even a mention on that first episode of the season. I’m convinced they’re just saving it for a later episode in the season.
Definitely would have given it to Jacob Anderson… honorable mention to Sam Reid… such an amazing and stunning finale! IWTV is the best and most underrated show on tv.
Preach! I’m so glad we’re getting a third season. I just wish they’d do some 4K steelbooks so this series can live in my shelf in its full glory.
We gave it to Sam last week and we have a rule against giving it to the same actor for the same show twice in one season. But yes, stellar performances all around.
This was a trash take. Jacob’s performance was ridiculously out of Jamie’s league this week.
Agree the best episode of The Bear season three. Both actress should be up for emmys for this emotional story. My conclusion is we need Jaime Lee Curtis in more episodes for sure.
Too bad they’d be in the comedy category.
Ice chips was amazing, such an intimate look at the mother daughter dynamic. Abby and Jamie Lee killed it!
My Jemily heart fell in love with those two all over again. One beat scenes.
AJ Cook absolutely killed it this week. She always does, but they really gave her something to work with in this episode, and it was so wonderful to see her shine.
Jacob Anderson was fantastic! That was a great season overall.
Best episode of the Bear this season, but that’s a really, really low bar. Seasons 1 and 2 were amazing. Season 3 was nothing but disjointed filler. Very disappointing to see a great show fall apart. Unfortunately they filmed a lot of season 4 concurrently so I’m expecting more of the same next season. I guess it’s good that they already filmed part of it because I couldn’t picture it getting renewed after what season 3 gave us and maybe a miracle will occur and season 4 will be a redemption and gift for those of us who stuck out season 3 to the end.
The entire cast of Star Trek Prodigy should have gotten at least an honorable mention, especially (spoiler) for their performance as the person behind the vault door.
Jamie Lee Curtis continues to shine and impress. She’s much more than Laurie Strode. She’s not afraid to show every wrinkle on that face and it makes her a much more powerful actress. She really has grown as an actress over the last two decades .
AJ Cook – well deserved. Along with Joe Mantegna and Paget Brewster in this episode. Emily’s death scene and Rossi’s moment with Tara were also worthy.
Jamie Lee Curtis may have gotten her second Emmy for that role with that episode. Definitely the best one of the season IMO
