Two Georgia high school teachers recently accused of having sex with students were known as “flirts” in the community where they worked.

Railey Greeson and Brooklyn Shuler, charged with sexual contact by an employee or agent in the first degree, allegedly had sex with male students between Oct. 29, 2021, and Jan. 3, 2022, according to an indictment first reported by NBC affiliate WXIA.
Following news of the charges, parents say the pair’s behaviour was well known in the town of Calhoun, 110 kilometres north of Atlanta.
“I’m not trying to stereotype, but you could look at them and tell they were trouble,” Audrey Decker, whose stepdaughter attends the school, told the New York Post.
Another parent, who asked not to be named, said both accused “were flirts.”
“You should have seen them with any attractive parents who came to the school,” the mom said. “They would flirt with any of the dads.”
The woman described the way the accused would interact with parents of the students.
“You know, laughing too loud, getting too close, that type of thing. Flirting. Trying to be cute. They were shameless.”

The charges in the indictment seem to indicate the victims were 16 or older at the time of the alleged offences as that is the age of consent in the state.
The indictment also said the women “reasonably should have known” the teens were attending school in the area, but didn’t say if the victims were taught by the women.

According to the Post, Greeson and Shuler have been friends for many years.
They were so close that Greeson was the maid of honour at Shuler’s wedding in November 2022.
According to Shuler’s wedding site, Greeson described the newlywed as her “best friend” and her “ride or die.” The site has since been taken down, according to the Post.
Nearly a year later, in October 2023, Shuler filled that role at Greeson’s nuptials.
It appears Shuler has split from her husband, according to her ex’s social media profile, while Greeson is still linked to her partner, the Post reports.
The women could face up to 25 years in prison or a fine of up to $100,000.
