New study unveils advanced cloud security solutions
Cloud computing is radically transforming how businesses around the world manage their operations. In 2023 alone, 94% used it to streamline services, increase productivity, and protect valuable data.
However, even as organizations are empowered to reach goals, concerns remain about the security of a cloud-based environment, particularly the ability of a malicious insider or former employee gaining unauthorized access to sensitive data.

A research into the deployment of an integrated framework for authentication and access control-based security across cloud-based environments has resulted in a new approach to cloud security and the protection of sensitive data.
The research by Dr Satish Karuturi, an expert in computer engineering and cloud computing, aimed to understand how a cloud-based system could function more securely through the implementation of security levels that would block unauthorized access, ultimately preventing malicious insider attacks that could impact critical data.
It reveals a secure framework that utilizes cryptographic algorithms and digital signatures to provide enhanced, integrated authentication as well as cloud security that incorporates access control and levels.

"This cybersecurity approach deemphasizes the risk of a 'man in the middle' or 'dictionary' attack and requires no additional software or hardware for authentication. It is the first truly level-based security model designed to handle all authentication challenges concurrently, share service access keys between cloud service providers and CSUs, and be managed by an anonymous third party," Karuturi said.
