Khamdong Singtam Assembly Election Result 2024: Nar Bahadur Dahal of SKM wins election

NEW DELHI: Nar Bahadur Dahal won from the Khamdong-Singtam assembly constituency after securing 5882 votes with a margin of 1739, according to the Election Commission of India.
Khamdong-Singtam assembly constituency, is one of the assembly constituencies out of the 32 present in Sikkim, located in the southern part of the state. The constituency went under poll on April 19.This constituency holds a crucial role in the state's political landscape, having witnessed significant electoral battles over the years.
In the 2019 Sikkim legislative assembly elections, the constituency saw Dr Mani Kumar Sharma from the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) emerge victorious over the Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) candidate Garjaman Gurung. The vote share in the constituency was 79.15% in 2019. Total voters during the previous assembly elections in 2019 were 13,067.
In the 2014 Sikkim legislative assembly elections, the constituency saw Somnath Poudyal from Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) win the elections, while Dr. Mani Kumar Sharma of the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) came second.
The 2024 elections witnessed Mani Kumar Sharma of SDF, Nar Bahadur Dahal of SKM, Tanka Nath Adhikari of INC and Chetan Sapkota of the BJP battle it out for the constituency.
