Pollachi election results 2024 live updates: DMK's Eswarasamy won with over 2.5 lakh vote margin

NEW DELHI: The Pollachi Lok Sabha constituency comprises six legislative assemblies: Thondamuthur, Kinathukadavu, Pollachi, Udumalaipettal, Valparai(SC), and Madathukulam.
Having over 15 lakh voters in the 2024 elections, the voter turnout was 70.41% in the 2024 elections, according to ECI data.
DMK's Eswarasamy K won with a vote margin of 2,52,042 votes against AIADMK's Karthikeyan A.

Key Candidates:
In the Pollachi constituency of Tamil Nadu, a tough battle could be seen between Karthikeyan A (AIADMK), K Vasantharajan (BJP), Eswarasamy K (DMK) and Suresh Kumar (NTK).
Previous elections results:
In the 2019 elections, DMK candidate K. Shamugasundaram emerged victorious, securing 554,230 votes. C. Mahendran of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) was the runner-up with 378,347 votes. The total voter turnout for this constituency was 71.15%.
In the 2014 elections, AIADMK candidate C. Mahendran claimed victory with 417,092 votes. KMDK candidate ER Eswaran secured the second position with 276,118 votes. The total vote polled for this constituency was 73.31%.
Vote share of major political parties in previous elections:
In the 2019 general elections for the Pollachi Lok Sabha constituency, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) secured 51.23% of the votes, while the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) obtained 34.97% of the votes. The Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) secured 5.52% of the votes.

In the 2014 general elections, the AIADMK led with 41.19% of the votes, while the KDMK (in alliance with BJP) obtained 27.27% of the votes. DMK secured a vote share of 24.87% of the votes.
Looking back to the 2009 general elections, the AIADMK emerged as the leading party with 39.77% of the votes, followed by the DMK with 33.79%.
