Srinagar constituency went into polling in the fourth phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, on May 13. Voter turnout was recorded at 38.49% in 2024 while in 2019 it was mere 14.43%. The Srinagar constituency was formed in 1962 and comprises Kangan, Ganderbal, Hazratbal, Zadibal, Eidgah, Khanyar, Habba Kadal, Amira Kadal, Sonawar, Batmaloo, Chadoora, Budgam, Beerwah, Khan Sahib, and Charari Sharief, among other legislative assemblies.The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), which has won ten of the last thirteen Lok Sabha elections, holds a dominant majority in the seat.

JKNC's Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi won with a vote margin of 1,88,416 votes against JKPDP's Waheed Ur Rehman Para.

The 2019 Lok Sabha elections in the Srinagar constituency witnessed a decisive victory for Farooq Abdullah of the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference (JKNC). Abdullah secured an impressive 106,750 votes, amounting to a substantial 57.14% vote share. His triumph was comprehensive, with a comfortable lead of 70,050 votes over his closest rival. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Aga Syed Mohsin, emerged as the runner-up, garnering 36,700 votes.
The 2014 Lok Sabha elections in the Srinagar constituency witnessed a hard-fought contest between the Jammu & Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (JKPDP) and the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference (JKNC). Tariq Hameed Karra of the JKPDP emerged victorious, securing 157,923 votes. Karra's victory came with a comfortable lead of 42,280 votes over his closest rival. The JKNC's Farooq Abdullah garnered 115,643 votes, and had to settle for the runner-up position.
