Two workers die in fireworks unit blast near Sivakasi in TN

VIRUDHUNAGAR: Two workers died and two others sustained injuries in a blast in a fireworks manufacturing unit in Virudhunagar district of Tamil Nadu on Tuesday.
The blast happened in a fireworks unit at Kalayarkurichi near Sivakasi when four workers were mixing chemicals in a shed. The blast was triggered by friction.
Two workers, identified as Mariappan and Muthuvel, died on the spot.Two other workers, who sustained severe burn injuries, were admitted to Sivakasi Government Hospital.
M Pudupatti police were conducting investigations.
