OBC activist Hake holds mega rally in Jarange’s village
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: OBC activists Laxman Hake and Navnath Waghmare on Sunday evening held a mega rally in Antarwali Sarati, the village of Manoj Jarange and the epicentre of Maratha reservation movement in Jalna district.
Those privy to the visit said the two activists had been to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar for an OBC meeting, following which they visited Wadigodri village.
Learning about their visit, people from Antarwali Sarati approached and took them to their village, where people gathered in large numbers, resulting in a mega rally.
Hake told TOI, “Antarwali Sarati has over 60% of OBC population. Almost every house in the village welcomed me with rangolis outside their homes. They even did my ‘aukshan’ (aarti).”
“We will not allow any injustice to be done to the OBCs just because someone is exerting pressure and forcing state govt to take an unconstitutional decision,” he said.
Hake’s supporters took to social media starting Monday morning and started circulating the videos and photos of his visit to the village.
The visit comes in the wake of Maratha activist Manoj Jarange’s Marathwada tour.
Off late, a section of the Antarwali Sarati residents, including those from the Maratha community, have been openly opposing Jarange holding agitations in the village. They even had reached out to the district administration with a plea to not grant him permission for holding any protests and agitations in the village.

Last month, Hake’s application to allow him to sit on an indefinite hunger strike in Antarwali Sarati was rejected by the police, following which he sat on the strike in nearby village Wadigodri.
Hake and his associate had then withdrawn their fast after state govt sent a delegation and assured them that the OBC quota won’t be disturbed at any cost.
