SVPIA now connects to Diu, Jaisalmer, Port Blair, and Agra

Travellers from Gujarat can expect an eventful Diwali season with the opening of additional direct flight options from Ahmedabad. The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International airport has announced the launch of flights to Jaisalmer, Diu, Port Blair, and Agra. Indigo Airlines has opened bookings for daily direct flights to Jaisalmer and Diu, while Alliance Air will include Indore as a destination. SpiceJet now offers a daily through flight via Chennai to Port Blair.

AHMEDABAD: The Diwali season is expected to be eventful for travellers from Gujarat with additional direct flight options opening up from the city airport. The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) airport operator in Ahmedabad on Monday announced the launch of flights to four destinations – Jaisalmer (Rajasthan), Diu (UT), Port Blair (Andaman & Nicobar), and Agra (Uttar Pradesh).Each of these flights began from October 29, just after the directorate general of civil aviation (DGCA) brought the Winter Schedule into effect.

“Indigo Airlines has opened bookings for daily direct flights to Jaisalmer and Diu. This new addition allows travellers to explore the captivating historical sites and beautiful beaches of Diu, as well as experience the allure of the 'Golden City' Jaisalmer,” the airport operator stated.
Furthermore, the airline has resumed operations in the Agra sector. Similarly, Alliance Air is also expanding its schedule by including Indore as a destination, with direct flights operating thrice weekly. SpiceJet now offers a daily through flight via Chennai, connecting Ahmedabad to the mesmerizing island destination of Port Blair. Travelers can now experience the white-sand beaches and scenic palm-lined shorelines of Port Blair.

Over and above the new destinations, the frequency of flights to existing destinations has also gone up. For instance, SpiceJet has increased the frequency of its direct flights to Dubai from seven to nine times a week. Similarly, Singapore Airlines has also increased its frequency, now offering a daily direct flight connecting Ahmedabad to Singapore. Additionally, effective December 1, Malaysia Airlines will commence its direct flights to Kuala Lumpur.
Passengers will have the convenience of four direct flights per week, opening many exciting destinations in Southeast Asia.
