BREAKING: Biden claims he 'will beat Trump again in 2020' in Wisconsin rally

"I’m staying in the race. I’ll beat Donald Trump. I will beat him again in 2020," he said, adding after a pause, "by the way, we’re gonna do it again in 2024."

Biden on Friday delivered a speech at a middle school in Madison, Wisconsin on Friday, telling the crowd that the CNN debate on June 27 wasn’t his "best performance.” He declared that he thought he could beat Donald Trump again in 2024 despite increasing calls for Biden to end his campaign from Democrats.

"You probably heard, we had a little debate last week. I can’t say it was my best performance," Biden told the crowd, which was met with shouts of "we love you Joe" and "It’s okay."

"But ever since then there’s been a lot of speculation: what’s Joe gonna do? Is he gonna stay in the race? Is he gonna drop out? What’s he gonna do? Well, here's my answer: I am running and gonna win again."

"I’m the sitting president of the United States of America in no small part because of you," he said, adding that in 2020, "you came through for me."

Biden said that he is the "nominee of the Democratic Party," adding that some people are "trying to push me out of the race. Let me say this as clearly as I can: I’m staying in the race. I’ll beat Donald Trump. I will beat him again in 2020," he said, adding after a pause, "by the way, we’re gonna do it again in 2024." Those calling for Biden to drop out of the debate include left-wing outlets, politicians, and pundits.

"I learned long ago when you get knocked down you get back on. And I’m not letting one 90-minute debate wipe out three and a half years of work." he added.

Biden moved on to concerns about his age. At 81 years old, Biden is the oldest president in US history. "You probably also noticed by discussion about my age," he said, going on to list accomplishments under his term, including placing the first black female justice in the Supreme Court, signing the "most significant gun safety laws in 30 years," and passing climate change bills.

He then asked the crowd whether they thought he was too old to ban "assault weapons," increase taxes on billionaires, and bring back Roe v Wade, to which the crowd shouted "no."

"You think I’m too old to beat Donald Trump," he asked the crowd, adding, "I can hardly wait."

Biden landed in Madison, Wisconsin’s Dane County Regional Airport on Friday afternoon, ahead of his rally stop in the city and a tape sit-down interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos.

Biden is set to sit for an interview for ABC News during his visit to Wisconsin with Stephanopoulos, the first major interview since CNN’s presidential debate, at which Biden’s performance has sparked concern among Democrats as to whether Biden should continue campaigning.

The interview, which will air in its uncut entirety at 8 pm Eastern, could be as short as 15 minutes and likely not more than 25 minutes. Some clips being aired ahead of time during ABC's World News Tonight at 6:30 pm. This comes as Biden reportedly told Democratic governors during a meeting at the White House that part of his plan to solve the perception that he is senile following the debate is to stop scheduling events after 8 pm so that he can get more sleep.

The interview on ABC News may be Biden's last shot to show Democrat supporters that he can handle the job of the president. Many on the left have called for him to step down after the debate against Trump.
