David McKay is Emeritus Professor of Government at the University of Essex. He is the author of Housing and Race in Industrial Society; American Politics and Society (9th Edition forthcoming 2017); Politics and Power in the US; Domestic Policy and Ideology, Rush to Union; Federalism and European Union; Essentials of American Politics; Designing Europe: Comparative Lessons from the Federal Experience (Winner WJM Mackenzie, prize, 2003) and co-author of The Politics of Urban Change; The Changing British Political System and Political Data Handbook and The New British Politics.
He has published more than 50 articles on British, American, comparative and urban politics.
