???metadata.dc.description.resumo???:	Este trabalho corresponde a uma investigação sobre as perspectivas a respeito das instituições de pesquisa centenárias no Brasil, Instituto Butantan e Fundação Oswaldo Cruz, Fiocruz, a partir de jovens do município de União dos Palmares, no interior do estado de Alagoas, região Nordeste. Tendo como inspiração os resultados apresentados pelo levantamento nacional intitulado ‘O que os jovens brasileiros pensam da ciência e da tecnologia?’(INCT-CPCT, 2021), o presente estudo se colocou como uma abordagem qualitativa à questão da percepção e do interesse de jovens no campo científico e em instituições públicas sob o ponto de vista dos conceitos teóricos do autor francês Pierre Bourdieu (1930-2002). Como problema de pesquisa, a questão esteve em entender de que modo se apresenta a interpretação sobre as instituições de pesquisa Butantan e Fiocruz perante um grupo residente fora da localização de origem dessas instituições, no contexto da pandemia de Covid-19 entre os anos de 2020 e 2021. Para tanto, foram selecionados dez jovens residentes em União dos Palmares, não-universitários e na faixa etária dos 18 aos 24 anos, entrevistados presencialmente com questionário em formato semi-estruturado. Como objetivo geral, buscou-se compreender quais as interpretações dos jovens do município, da faixa etária mencionada e sem vínculo com o ensino superior, sobre os institutos de pesquisa Butantan e Fiocruz a partir do consumo declarado de conteúdos/informações científicas e gerais. Enquanto objetivos específicos, foram estabelecidos: i) analisar a percepção dos institutos de pesquisa Butantan e Fiocruz diante do grupo entrevistado à luz dos preceitos teóricos de Pierre Bourdieu como Campo social, Capital social e as contribuições à uma Sociologia da ciência; ii) identificar como se dá o contato com as informações científicas sobre saúde e sobre os institutos pesquisados no contexto da pandemia do Coronavírus no biênio 2020-2021; iii) investigar a possível relação entre consumo midiático (televisão e internet), meios de propagação das informações referentes aos institutos pesquisados e as atribuições valorativas relacionadas a esses institutos. Os conceitos bourdieusianos, apresentados e discutidos ao longo do trabalho, serviram de base teórica e metodológica para as análises das respostas reunidas como corpus deste trabalho. Como resultados obtidos, se destacaram: as diferenças de significados (ou representações) atribuídas à ciência aprendida na escola versus as impressões ou o conhecimento sobre campo científico ligado ao ensino superior brasileiro; uma notada subordinação das informações científicas e de interesse público (a exemplo da pandemia) à lógica de funcionamento e circulação de publicações das redes sociais digitais; e, por fim, o protagonismo da televisão no consumo involuntário de informações sobre as instituições tratadas, com a centralidade do Jornal Nacional e da rede Globo como agentes fundamentais na visibilidade do trabalho do Instituto Butantan e da Fiocruz durante a pandemia de Covid-19 no Brasil.
Abstract:	The present research corresponds to an investigation on the perspectives regarding the centenary research institutions in Brazil, Instituto Butantan and Fundação Oswaldo Cruz, Fiocruz, from young people in the municipality of União dos Palmares, in the interior of the state of Alagoas, Northeast region. Inspired by the results presented by the national survey entitled 'What do young Brazilians think about science and technology?' (INCT-CPCT, 2021), the present study is a qualitative approach to the issue of perception and interest of young people in the scientific field and in public institutions from the point of view of the theoretical concepts of the French author Pierre Bourdieu (1930-2002). As a research problem, the question was to understand how the interpretation of the research institutions Butantan and Fiocruz is presented to a group residing outside the place of origin of these institutions, in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic between the years 2020 and 2021. To this end, were interviewed in person with a semi-structured questionnaire ten young people living in União dos Palmares, non-university and aged between 18 and 24 years old. As a general objective, we sought to understand the interpretations of young people in the municipality, of the mentioned age group and without a link to higher education, about the research institutes Butantan and Fiocruz from the declared consumption of scientific and general content/information. As specific objectives, the following were established: i) to analyze the perception of the research institutes Butantan and Fiocruz before the interviewed group in the light of Pierre Bourdieu's theoretical precepts such as Social Field, Social Capital and contributions to a Sociology of Science; ii) identify how to contact scientific information on health and on the researched institutes in the context of the Coronavirus pandemic in the 2020-2021 biennium; iii) investigate the possible relationship between media consumption (television and internet), means of propagating information regarding the researched institutes and the evaluative attributions related to these institutes. The Bourdieusian concepts, presented and discussed throughout the work, served as a theoretical and methodological basis for the analysis of the responses gathered as the corpus of this work. As results, the following stand out: the differences in meanings (or representations) attributed to science learned at school versus impressions or knowledge about the scientific field linked to Brazilian higher education; a notable subordination of scientific and public interest information (such as the pandemic) to the logic of functioning and circulation of publications on digital social networks; and, finally, the role of television in the involuntary consumption of information about the institutions treated, with the centrality of Jornal Nacional and Rede Globo as fundamental agents in the visibility of the work of Instituto Butantan and Fiocruz during the Covid-19 pandemic in Brazil.
