Street Outreach

Street Outreach

The Street Outreach Team is a collaborative effort between the Alliance and outreach staff employed by homeless service providers across suburban Cook County. The Outreach Team works together to identify and build trusted relationships with people experiencing unsheltered homelessness throughout our region. Street outreach staff provide basic needs such as food, clothing, and transportation, as well as connect clients to public assistance programs, help obtain important documents, and work together to create housing plans.

In addition to working directly with clients, the Street Outreach Team builds relationships with other organizations in the community such as libraries, schools, parks, municipalities, the Forest Preserve of Cook County, health care providers, and many more. Relationship building is beneficial for outreach staff, community partners, and most importantly, for our neighbors experiencing homelessness. Ending homelessness is a community-wide effort.

If you have items you’d like to donate such as tents, sleeping bags, coats, or food please contact our Outreach and Lived Experience Engagement Manager or search our Member Directory to find a homeless service provider near you!
