Final Reminder: SPSP Seeking Next Coordinator of Social-Personality Undergraduate Research Program (SPUR) Program

 

Time is running out to apply to be the next Coordinator for the Social-Personality Undergraduate Research Program (SPUR) program, which expands opportunities for research experience for students from historically underrepresented racial backgrounds. SPUR seeks to foster training and community engagement through virtual interconnections from March-December.

 

Interested SPSP members (with a completed PhD) should complete the application below before September 15. Members can also nominate candidates by emailing DCC member Evava Pietri at .

Free-Form Fridays Are Back! Sign Up or Host Your Own Session

 

After a summer hiatus, SPSP is bringing back Free-Form Fridays. Sign-ups are now open for our September sessions, which explore how to navigate funding opportunities, inclusive citing practices, and more.

 

Free-Form Fridays are small, virtual meeting rooms designed for and by SPSP members. Discussion topics often include professional development, current or future research projects, or other areas of interest. Is there a topic you'd like to see covered in an upcoming Free-Form Friday? Share your idea with us below!

Advocacy Update: What the Latest Senate Appropriations Bills Mean for Social Science Funding

 

Before Congress began their August recess, the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee completed work on all 12 of its annual appropriations bills. The bills include funding proposals for several government agencies, including the National Institutes of Health, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and the Department of Education.

Tabea Hässler is a senior lecturer at the University of Zurich, the curator of the Zurich Intergroup Project, and, together with Léïla Eisner, the Swiss LGBTIQ+ Panel. Tabea’s research focuses on responses to inequalities and support for greater social equality among diverse advantaged and disadvantaged groups.
