Taskty Is the biggest online marketplace for home services in Egypt.  All the customer needs is to order the
service through our platform and we will send him a well trained,
trustworthy and reliable technician. If he doesn't like the service
quality he will get his money back.
For the suppliers we are offering them a golden opportunity to get an
access to the online market, grow their business and develop soft skills
through our training programs.
As the suppliers here are freelancers with no agencies, disconnected,
not tech savvy and poorly educated we realized that we need a different
way of digitization. So we built a totally new technology to fit and
scale in the underdeveloped markets. 

We have 500 active suppliers serving thousands of customers every month in two cities in Egypt. 

What is the problem you are solving?

Before Taskty there wasn't any home service agencies in Egypt! Not a
single agency where you can order a plumber, electrician or someone to
clean your house. The only possible solution was to go and pick someone
that you don't know from the street and take him to your house. Problems
like very poor quality, unprofessional behavior, over pricing or even
theft were extremely common.

From the supplier side, the technicians were struggling to reach new customers and grow their business and lacking a lot of the soft skills needed to build a successful business. 

Who are you serving?

We are serving tens of thousands of middle to high class Egyptian households. Who were suffering from the quality of the home services in Egypt.

We have more than 500 active supplier categorized as follow :
1- Maintenance technicians
2- Cleaning  technicians : Here we get the tech from zero experience and train them to start working as cleaning technicians with ~10 USD daily income which is far above the poverty line.
3- Small service agencies: We work with around 6 agencies that offers services that needs special requirements or certificates like deep cleaning, pest control.

We help our suppliers to reach new customers and increase their income through our online platform. Also we are giving them soft skills training and one to one coaching to help them to work more professionally and enhance their skills. We plan to start a health insurance program to secure our technicians.

Most of our suppliers were excluded from the digital economy because they are not connected, no smart phones and no banking accounts. We innovated a  system to include them into the online platform without the need for internet from side or regular Banking.

We were trying with the western style platform just to discover that we will need a totally different concept to scale this in Egypt and the similar markets.
With the huge market size and the extremely low competition here the only challenge is the scalability of the model with the disconnected suppliers and that's exactly what we started to unlock.
We are serving hundreds of customer requests per day to 500 supplier who doesn't have visa cards, smart phone or a stable internet connection using market suitable street smart technology solutions.
We achieved 1000% growth from Oct 2017 until now without much pain as the whole company was built to scale massively.

We are scaling an online home services marketplace model that can
explode massively in the emerging markets. As the suppliers here are
freelancers with no agencies, disconnected, not tech savvy and poorly
educated we need a different way of digitization. We were trying with
the western style platform just to discover that we will need a totally
different concept to scale this in Egypt and the similar markets.
With the huge market size and the extremely low competition here the
only challenge is the scalability of the model with the disconnected
suppliers and that's exactly what we started to unlock.
We are serving hundreds of requests per day to 500 supplier who doesn't
have visa cards, smart phone or a stable internet connection using a mixture of web, mobile, SMS based applications in addition to a fully featured call center.  
We achieved 1000% growth from Oct 2017 until now without much pain as
the whole company was built to scale massively.

Describe the core technology that your solution utilizes.

We are an online platform. From the customer side the customer can order through our website, mobile application or our call center and our agent will dispatch it to the system.
From the supplier side we use the supplier mobile app to communicate with the connected suppliers. As most of our suppliers doesn't have internet connection nor smart phones we use SMS based application to communicate  with the disconnected suppliers without the need for internet connection.
The platform is taking care of the dispatching, recording ratings, feedback, calculating commission and collecting cash through Fawry cash network.
We plan to automate more process steps and decrease human touch points. Tasks like quality control, quality incentives, dispatching of most of the services is planned to be completely automated.

Why do you expect your solution to address the problem?

We generated Millions of Egyptian Pounds of income to more than 800 supplier over the last Year.
 For the cleaning labor we are their main source of income with
around 3000 EGP monthly income which is moving them far above the
poverty line. This segment is the less privileged with very low income
and education level.
For the maintenance technicians we are forming 10%-60% of their income
depending on the service and the supplier quality score.
The most important effect that is a little harder to be measured is the
effect of soft skills training and coaching which makes the supplier
more professional and this will increase his income and enhance his
carrier on the long term.

We are serving tens of thousand of customers, 500 active supplier. The plan is to achieve 600% Year over year growth as we did for the last two years.

What are your goals within the next year and within the next five years?

Our top goals:
1- Hitting 240,000 monthly orders which translates to 5M USD monthly GMV by Dec 2022.
2- Launch more 7 cities in Egypt and Mena.
3- Hitting 40,000 active technician by Dec 2022.

What are the barriers that currently exist for you to accomplish your goals for the next year and for the next five years?

The biggest challenge is to maintain and enhance the quality with the fast growth that we are achieving. 

How are you planning to overcome these barriers?

To overcome this challenge we are trying to automate the quality control process as much as we can. Building a culture of quality and professionalism inside our tech base and creating a knowledge flow system from the expert old technicians to the new joiners.
