  • Last month, we celebrated SingLand Family Month with activities for employees to spend more quality time with their families. 🏠   🍽️In support of Centre for Fathering's initiative, we participated in Eat With Your Family Day on 24 May, the last Friday of the school term. Subjected to work exigencies, our #SingLandFamily was able to leave work earlier at 5pm for a meal with their children and families. 😋    🏏With the rising popularity of #pickleball, we organised a Learn and Play Pickleball session for our employees and their children. Coaches from MInd Body and Passion Sports Management, one of our tenants at Marina Square, kickstarted the session with fun warm up exercises🏃♂️, followed by a sharing of pickleball techniques, rules and know-hows!    👨🍳Through a fun-filled Cook & Bake with Family session, our staff channelled their inner chefs to cook and bake alongside their children and extended family.    These activities are part of SingLand’s W-Wellness, I-Inspire, S-Socialize, E-Energise (WISE) programme centred around improving the mental, physical, financial, emotional and social wellbeing of employees. We would like to thank our employees for their participation and look forward to organising more of such activities!    #familytime #WorkLifeBalance #SingLandEmpowers

  • We seek to be an agent of change by advocating for fair ⚖️ practices in the built environment sector to create win-win solutions for all parties. This includes having a more equitable risk distribution for construction contracts. In partnership with Building and Construction Authority, we have adopted customised collaborative contracting clauses for our redevelopment project of Clifford Centre 🏢. These include: ✅ Cost-sharing to manage fluctuations in raw materials 🏗️– enabling us to receive more accurate costings as contractors price their contracts based on baseline without any markup since we are committed to co-sharing additional costs if there are unexpected changes. ✅ Time-sharing of risks of actual ground conditions ⛏️ – contractors are assured that if they face unanticipated issues during work commencement that were not picked up in earlier studies, we will allow a reasonable extension of time to resolve these issues. In the spirit of collaboration, we conducted a Partnering Workshop with the project’s main contractor Woh Hup (Private) Limited earlier this week. The fruitful discussion saw both parties establish common objectives, expectations, procedures, and more 🤝🏻✍️ – all of which provided a clear ethos of how we can work together at every stage of the project to deliver better outcomes. As construction of the project gets into full swing, let us continue to uphold the highest standards and create an outstanding building that we can all be proud of 💪! #collaborativecontracting

  • Earlier this month, more than 40 #SingLandVolunteers spent quality time with 50 seniors👵👴, engaging in cooking🥘 and latte art workshops☕taught by the seniors themselves, and participating in karaoke🎤and Rummy-O games over two afternoons. This was all in support of meaningful social initiative, Montfort Care (Goodlife Makan) – makan is the Malay word for “to eat”. Borne out of an idea that the joy of sharing meals🍽️ has a positive effect on both physical and mental health, Montfort Care (Goodlife Makan) was conceptualised to better support stay-alone seniors living in Marine Parade. Located at the void deck of an HDB block, this recreational centre was designed by our long-time partner DP Architects and features an experimental design that shifts away from the conventional gated elderly activity centre to an open, fenceless compound with a communal kitchen as its nucleus.   Through daily activities like food preparation, cooking, and washing dishes, seniors are offered opportunities for conversation, engagement and companionship. Members of the public are also welcome to makan or participate in activities with the seniors at the centre. At SingLand, we are supportive of inclusive urban spaces such as Goodlife Makan that empowers seniors with opportunities to interact and socialise. As a community project, Montfort Care (Goodlife Makan) raises funds through monthly activities and the sale of handmade goods at the centre. The next activity is planned for this Saturday from 8am to 2pm. We encourage you to join the event and bring your family members, friends and furkids down for a hearty meal while spending a rewarding afternoon interacting with seniors! #SingLandElevates #Volunteering #LifeatSingLand #CSR

  • 🎉🎉Just last week, Singapore Land Tower was recognised at the SGBC-BCA Leadership in Sustainability Awards in the Carbon Performance category 🙌. Thank you @Singapore Green Building Council for acknowledging our efforts to transform and futureproof Singapore Land Tower, our flagship commercial office building built in the early 1980s.   Instead of a redevelopment, we chose to modernise the building through an extensive asset enhancement initiative (AEI). Introducing innovative sustainable features and offerings, some highlights include a low emissivity double-glazed curtain wall for the façade and upgrades to the air-conditioning and mechanical ventilation system. Keeping the building operational while carrying out this AEI is a challenging feat, and we are grateful to have a strong project team working behind the scenes to ensure that our aspirations for this building are met. Our partners include Takenaka Corporation Architects 61 Pte Ltd Arup G-Energy Global Pte Ltd – a big thank you to everyone played a part, and we look forward to working closely with you to complete the project! #GreenBuilding #Sustainability #SGBC

Celebrate the rich history, development, and rejuvenation of the iconic 42-year-old Singapore Land Tower (SLT), located in the heart of Raffles Place. The first video of our four-part series, created in collaboration with TEC Create by The Executive Centre, is released today.   🏛️Journey back to early 20th century Singapore and explore bustling Raffles Place, the birthplace of the nation’s commercial development. Completed in 1982, SLT was built on the site of the former John Little building and was one of the tallest buildings in the area at that time.   ⚒️While several upgrading works were done over the years, the building reached a key milestone when we embarked on an ambitious rejuvenation project in 2021 to transform the historic landmark into a next-generation office tower. Hear from the visionaries behind this project as they share their inspirations, visions, and innovative, sustainable approaches to transform this icon.   📺Watch the first video here or visit our website https://lnkd.in/gZ2buYKv to learn more about this remarkable journey! • We seek to foster strong ties with the communities we serve, and this includes creating platforms at our malls to raise awareness for meaningful social causes. Last month, Marina Square, in collaboration with not-for-profit Peace of Art SG, organised Singapore’s first-ever Sustainable Kids Market🛍️over a weekend to raise funds for the Singapore Red Cross Society’s Young Hearts programme which provides education support to children living in public rental housing. The event, held from 25 to 26 May, featured booths by KidsforKids-preneurs. Children 👧🏻👦🏻with help from their parents, sold items from pressed flower bookmarks, freshly baked cookies🍪and second-hand toys 🤖. The successful fundraising initiative saw $50,000 raised on the first day, of which S$35,000 was from sales proceeds from KidsforKids-preneurs’ booths and a $15,000 contribution by SingLand. We were heartened to see an amazing turnout at the event which saw various community partners from schools, government agencies and sustainable businesses come together to further social inclusion and sustainability. 🪴 The fundraising drive by Peace of Art is still ongoing. • For the second consecutive year, our flagship Singapore Land Tower is participating in #ilightsingapore's Switch Off Turn Up (SOTU) energy-saving initiative💡❄️! Between 31 May to 23 June 2024, we will be switching off the building’s signage and non-essential lights two hours earlier at 9pm, and maintaining an air conditioning temperature of between 23.5°C – 24.5°C. As an organisation committed to making a sustainable impact, we regularly participate in movements that raise awareness about energy conservation. Earlier in March, we took part in Earth Hour🌏⌛, where all our nine Singapore properties switched off their façade and non-essential lights for an hour. Beyond these movements, we actively look at ways to reduce the energy consumption of our buildings through innovative solutions, while encouraging stakeholders such as our tenants to adopt energy-efficient practices. #SOTU #ilightsingapore #iLSG

  • As a small city state with a dense population, Singapore adopts a pragmatic approach that balances biodiversity conservation against growing demands for urban development. The country is home to many natural treasures, including Chek Jawa, which we visited last week as part of a guided tour by National Parks Board. Comprising six ecological habitats such as mangroves, coastal forests and sandy beaches, the trip to Chek Jawa was an insightful learning journey for our colleagues, many of whom had not been to the area, located in the eastern part of Pulau Ubin before. A key highlight was the visit to Chek Jawa’s intertidal flats during low tide, where we saw a wide variety of marine wildlife from sea anemones, sea cucumbers, starfish and horseshoe crabs in their natural habitats 🐚 🦀. We headed back to office with a greater respect for the natural environment and a renewed commitment to keep green spaces 🍃 🌴 such as Chek Jawa protected, not just to mitigate the impact of climate change but also to conserve our country’s natural heritage for future generations. Watch the video below for key highlights from the visit: #CityinNature #LifeAtSingLand
