Our seniors from Goodlife Studio (Bukit Purmei) recently made headlines in The Straits Times, 8world, and CAPITAL 958 with their incredible community project! They crocheted 188 Singapore flags, earning an entry in the Singapore Book of Records for the “Largest Display of Crocheted National Flags.” The heartwarming “SG59” project was a collaborative effort involving seniors from our carpentry workshop, crochet classes, and youth volunteers from the community. The event was graced by Member of Parliament for Radin Mas, Mr. Melvin Yong, and our Founder | CEO Mr. Samuel Ng, BBM, who both placed the final two flags on the display during the award ceremony. Our seniors were thrilled to see their creativity and hard work celebrated. We continue to support them in staying active and engaged throughout their golden years. Wishing everyone a very happy National Day! Read more about the project in 8world here: https://lnkd.in/g4yK3gXh #ActiveAgeing #GoodlifebyMontfortCare

The Singapore Airlines team recently joined us at Goodlife Makan community kitchen to film a feature video of Christine. Christine is an SIA cabin crew member who also regularly volunteers with us at Goodlife Makan! Through Christine, the SIA team discovered the fulfilling volunteering and CSR opportunities at Goodlife Makan. They spent a wonderful day with our seniors, playing Rummy-O and learning Uncle Kia Meng’s secret butter cake recipe. The volunteers also pitched in with our home personal care services, helping with housekeeping for our beneficiaries, as well as gardening. A heartfelt thank you to the SIA team for making a positive impact in our community! We look forward to welcoming the team back soon! Stay tuned to their socials and silverkris.com to catch Christine and our seniors in action. We love collaborating with corporate organisations for meaningful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives! Partnering with us provides unique opportunities to give back and make a real difference in the lives of our seniors. Reach out to learn more! #GoodlifebyMontfortCare

We recently collaborated with our partners at Radin Mas Constituency to unveil a neighbourhood reading corner, to bring the joy of learning to more members in the community, in support of the National Library Board's National Reading Movement. The bookshelves were handcrafted by our seniors at Goodlife Studio (Bukit Purmei), an Active Ageing centre by Montfort Care that features a signature carpentry studio for our seniors to create useful pieces for the community. "When we provide the right space and avenue, our seniors become active contributors to the community. We'd like to thank Member of Parliament for Radin Mas SMC, Mr Melvin Yong, for this wonderful collaboration opportunity. You have brought the joy of reading to the community and allowed our Kayu Artisans to be proud of their work," shared Chief Operating Officer, Montfort Care, Paul Chew. Check out the highlights from the event in the link below!

Recently, we had the honour of hosting Minister Indranee Rajah at Goodlife Studio (Tiong Bahru), and sharing more about how Montfort Care is reshaping the future of #ActiveAgeing with our innovative active ageing centres. Founder | CEO of Montfort Care, Samuel Ng, BBM, shared more about Goodlife Studio (Tiong Bahru) – a digital media studio that empowers seniors to get creative with digital media and create digital media projects for the community. Its facilities include a live streaming studio and podcast/audio studio, created to encourage our elderly to share their lived experiences and stories with the community. Beyond the studio, Minister Indranee also shared more about the events held at People's Association for our seniors to participate in, as well as avenues for greater collaboration between Tanjong Pagar Division and Goodlife Studio (Tiong Bahru). We look forward to continuing to work with our partners at People’s Association to enable our seniors to age well within their communities. Write in to us at goodlifestudio@montfortcare.org.sg if your organisation is keen on connecting with us to make a difference in the lives of our seniors! #GoodlifebyMontfortCare

We were happy to welcome our partners from the Agency for Integrated Care (Singapore) including Chief Executive Officer Mr. Dinesh Vasu Dash and Group Chief, Sector and Partnerships Division, Mr. Siang Jye Chern to our Goodlife Studio (Tiong Bahru). Our team provided a tour of the future-ready Active Ageing Centre, themed as a digital studio to empower our seniors to learn more about digital media and contribute to community projects. Our Founder | CEO Mr. Samuel Ng, BBM, also shared more about the Voice Museum: My Voice, My Story project. Based on the motto of “Everyone has a story to tell,” we aim to showcase the life stories of our seniors via recorded audio narratives. This unique platform celebrates their lived experiences, and reminds them that they are remembered and appreciated by their families and the wider community. We also discussed more about the future of the eldercare landscape in Singapore, including the importance of continuing to innovate and find new ways to engage our seniors and enable them to age well. Thank you to our partners for your ongoing support and collaboration, and we look forward to many more initiatives that uplift and empower our seniors! If your organisation is looking for meaningful and tangible ways to contribute to the community, reach out to us at goodlifestudio@montfortcare.org.sg to find out more about how you can make a difference in the lives of our seniors and beneficiaries. #GoodlifebyMontfortCare  #ActiveAgeing

Good nutrition remains integral in ensuring the health and well-being of our seniors. The Healthy, Empowered and Active Living (HEAL) Fund, made possible by the Low Tuck Kwong Foundation, has allowed our healthcare partners at SingHealth to roll out innovative and sustainable care models. Leveraging the fund, dietitians from Singapore General Hospital have conducted in-depth interviews and focus group discussions with seniors at Goodlife Makan in Marine Terrace and Goodlife Studio (Bukit Purmei) to develop tailored nutrition awareness programmes. Seniors will learn about nutrition through interactive hands-on sessions and easy to understand nutrition snippets placed around their dining area at both Centres, to empower them to manage their health and medical conditions through making the right food choices. Find out more in the full segment below from 11:00 onwards! We look forward to continuing to work with our partners to strengthen integrated care programmes for our seniors and enable them to age-in-place within their communities. #GoodlifebyMontfortCare  #ActiveAgeing

Cheers to our friends at DP Architects on your win, for your work on our Goodlife Studio Carpentry Studio. Located at Bukit Purmei, this studio has been intentionally conceptualised and built to offer a "light-hearted environment where free expression is encouraged, normalising mistakes and imperfections" as DP Architects aptly describe. It continues to be an open, community-centric space for many seniors. Its stunning main highlight? Our signature carpentry area 🔨 🔧 🛠 reserved especially for male seniors to build and craft projects ranging from small wooden collectibles to bookshelves and fall-prevention stools for the community. It is always our goal to empower seniors to be active contributors to the community, and with this space, they can. #partnership #collaborationwins #montfortcaregoals #goodlifebymontfortcare

Goodlife Studio @ Bukit Purmei has been honoured with the Merit Award in the Special Category – Social and Humanitarian Architecture for the Singapore Institute of Architects Architectural Design Awards 2024. Converting a void deck space into a social living room, Goodlife Studio @ Bukit Purmei creates an #inclusive community space for residents. Headed by Montfort Care, various programmes are organised with the aim of #empowering senior citizens to take charge of their learning and health. The main ‘Kayu Artisan’ Studio offers a light-hearted environment where free expression is encouraged, normalising mistakes and imperfections. The Goodlife Studio embodies #thoughtfuldesign, showcasing how design can empower #activeageing and #lifelonglearning. Congratulations to DP Architects on your well-deserved win! This beautiful, open space designed as a community kitchen continues to allow for us at Montfort Care to invite stayalone seniors in the community to come together to socialise, cook, serve, and dine with the many new friends they make at Goodlike Makan. For those curious about this cheerfully designed space, we are open every Monday to Friday, with a Flea Market held every last Saturday of the month (pets 🐶 🐈 🕊 are welcome at the Flea Market too!) Pick up handcrafted jewellery, artworks, or enjoy breakfast with coffee made by our very own baristas. All these, and more, made possible thanks to our friends at DP. 💪 #partnership #collaborationwins #montfortcaregoals #goodlifebymontfortcare

DP Architects is delighted to announce Goodlife Makan’s win at the recently concluded Urban Land Institute (ULI) Asia Pacific Awards for Excellence. Announced during the ULI Asia Pacific Summit 2024 in Tokyo, Japan, Goodlife Makan is one of 12 winners that were selected. Cheerfully designed with a communal kitchen at its nucleus, the #activeagingcentre sited at a void deck in Marine Terrace is the first to engender interaction while encouraging social support among stay-alone elderlies through food programming in a community-based support network. The porous setting of the void deck allowed for an open, fenceless area that reduces social stigma that often comes with elder-care facilities. The shift from a conventional model is also expressed in the intentional application of rich vibrant hues, reflected in its zoning areas as well. Goodlife Makan makes for an inclusive and distinctive place for seniors and the wider community of Marine Parade. Part of DP’s #corporatersocialresponsibility program, it was conceived for Montfort Care, a social welfare organisation. In 2021, Goodlife Makan underwent renovation works to include a coffee bar.
