    🎉 Our talented employees from OMD New Zealand won the Young Lions NZ competition and thanks to Comms Council NZ, had the chance to experience the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity and participate in the Global Young Lions competition.     Amanda Watts has been appointed Managing Director of OMD Sydney. She has a 15-year tenure with OMD, beginning her journey in Singapore and spending the last seven years in leadership roles with OMD Sydney.     🎮 ICYMI: David McCallen, OMD APAC's Chief Strategy Officer, was one of the six leaders from Omnicom Media Group Asia Pacific who participated in ATS Singapore 2024 last week. "If doesn't have a long-term strategy, regardless of what category you're in, and it doesn't involve trying to understand how gaming can fit into that, then culturally you're setting yourself back. This is a juggernaut of audience, attention, and engagement that is just building and perpetuating," David said. Joining other industry folks, David discussed ways to unlock value in gaming audiences and cited Omnicom Media Group Asia Pacific's gaming research launched earlier this year. Here are some other points the panel covered: • People are playing different games for different reasons, mindsets, and attitudes; they want an immersive experience that's all about them. Brands need to speak to them around those aspects. • Have in-game partnerships that are authentic to the environment. If you aren't authentic, what's your right to be there and engage with the gamer when they are playing? • Most game publishers make more than enough money through microtransactions, buying skins, and all their affiliates. The last thing they want is a brand telling them they want their brand in their game and taking control, which is a very different dynamic from what brands are very accustomed to. Hence, brands need to be more thoughtful about how they integrate into the gaming environment. • Permissibility and driving advertising experiences that truly integrate into consumers' lives — that's the battle for us and the gaming landscape is the perfect environment for us to hone our skills. #ATSSingapore2024 #Gaming #Advertising ExchangeWire

    💡 What is adtech curation? It's ensuring that marketing dollars invested are utilised in the best form back in media. "It is important for advertisers to get what they pay for — free of fraud and marker fees etc. From an agency perspective, curation is what happens behind the scenes and we work with partners to bring the best content and inventory available, adding value to clients," said Dileep Raj Singh, Head of Digital at OMD APAC during yesterday's panel session at ATS Singapore 2024. Other points brought up during the discussion include: • The key to curation adoption is A/B testing and start showing value before moving on from there. Education is also required to help clients understand how they can leverage and benefit from this. • Curation is a promising solution to address the issue of brand safety and lessens the potential of derailing a brand's entire marketing calendar. • One concern about curation is if it involves additional costs for brands. Hence, partners need to strategically position this solution and showcase its relevance and benefits. #ATSSingapore2024 #AdtechCuration ExchangeWire
