Building A Caring and Healthy North West Community

About us

The Community Development Council (CDC) sits in a unique position to play the role of the enabler in the district, through forming meaningful networks and connecting our partners to the needs in the community. At North West CDC, we are constantly exploring new and innovative ways to address the gaps in the community by working with our partners to provide regular support in different areas of need. Whether it is to promote health and wellness through our Healthy Living clubs, advocate green living by bringing sustainability closer to our community, or uplifting the community through assistance schemes, the CDC hopes to increase our engagements on ground to garner more participation and promote volunteerism to support our residents.

  • 3 partners, 1 common problem statement - how do we provide more regular support to less-privileged residents, through a sustainable assistance model? One day, the 💡went off and Project Sama-Sama @ North West took flight ✈️ Due to the sheer determination and commitment of key partners SPH Media and Auresys Pte Ltd, the project became a reality, with vending machines stocked with daily necessities providing 24/7 flexibility and convenience for eligible households to redeem items when they needed it. Special thanks to Singapore Pools for supporting Zhenghua Division with your generous sponsorship. The programme is expected to support up to 8,000 less-privileged residents across the North West District. If you’re interested to sponsor this meaningful cause, contact northwestcdc_partnerships@pa.gov.sg to discuss collaboration opportunities.

ERA in your Neighbourhood! We collaborated with North West CDC on their Green Homes Programme. We did a door-knocking session and promoted the Green living lifestyle to the North West residents and how they can get rewarded for having eco-friendly appliances. Join us in this initiative to make the North West community a greener, more sustainable place to live! #WeAreERA #OneERA #ESGbyERA

  • Ever wondered what the team at North West CDC does, when we are not planning or running programmes for the community? The answer – we immerse ourselves into the same community, and spend quality time with those who need our listening ear. 👂 Earlier this year, decked out in our sports attire with the cheeky #xibeifun print, staff from North West CDC visited the Boys’ Town where we spent a meaningful afternoon. While the main activity was a series of relay games which certainly got the adrenaline pumping, it was also a precious opportunity for the staff to speak to the boys, find out their interests, and more importantly show that the wider community cared for their well-being. The boys were over the moon when they found out that the CDC team had ordered burgers 🍔 🍔 from Macdonalds for a sumptuous dinner and a great end to the day. It was a short but important engagement for us to stay connected with our stakeholders and keep our finger on the pulse. Keen to create social impact in the North West District? If you need advice in shaping a community project or resource support to implement an idea effectively, write to us at northwestcdc_partnerships@pa.gov.sg to explore collaboration opportunities.

  • As we kick off another quarter of the North West Service Weeks, let's take a look at how our corporate volunteers spent their weekends in helping the needy, bringing smiles and giving back to #ourNorthWest community ❤️ At Limbang, City Developments Limited has dedicated their resources over the years to serving the residents living in the public rental flats through various initiatives spearheaded by the staff club, while residents living in Canberra received additional snack packs sponsored by Far East Organization. At Nee Soon East, residents received additional supermarket vouchers sponsored by Lumileds, and in the coming weeks, Marsiling residents are expected to receive fresh groceries such as vegetables and fresh eggs sponsored by ERA Singapore. This quarter, besides the staple food necessities, we also introduced household necessities such as health and hygiene products, as well as cleaning products for residents' selection! All these was made possible by our committed corporate partners, and generous contributions of our Club-100 @ North West community.
