Irene Arias Hofman, CFA of IDB Lab shares four use cases that could enable an ecosystem of new services and products: 1️⃣ Tokenization of money and payments: The Bahamas launched the Sand Dollar—a digital version of the Bahamian dollar that has improved financial inclusion in remote islands by making transactions faster and more accessible. 2️⃣ Tokenization of real-world assets: In South Africa, web3 investment platform Momint has tokenized high-value art pieces—enabling fractional ownership through the successful tokenization of >$2 million worth of art. 3️⃣ Enabling digital public infrastructure for tokenization: The Rwandan government’s use of blockchain for land registry has streamlined property transfers—creating more transparency, reliability, and time and cost savings. 4️⃣ Tokenization for sustainable development goals (SDGs): SDGs have been shown to achieve various developmental goals. Repsol’s tokenization of renewable energy certificates supports SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) by increasing transparency and encouraging the use of renewables. ➡️ Read the full op-ed: https://lnkd.in/g2UdD6ih 𝙁𝙪𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚𝙈𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙞𝙨 𝙖 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨, 𝙥𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙨, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙮 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙮𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙨 𝙤𝙣 𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙧𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙨 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙤𝙙𝙖𝙮'𝙨 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙. As asset tokenisation gains prevalence across various blockchain networks, the need for interoperability has become more pressing—and platforms like the Axelar Network enable this in just one click through its hub-and-spoke model. But what if this model could also be applied to establish 'one-click' standards?💡 Jason Rozovsky, Head of Legal at Interop Labs, explores this in our newest FutureMatters report—released in connection with last week’s Point Zero Forum. ➡️ Read it now: https://lnkd.in/eYyJkRCu 𝙁𝙪𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚𝙈𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙞𝙨 𝙖 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨, 𝙥𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙨, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙮 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙮𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙨 𝙤𝙣 𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙧𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙨 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙤𝙙𝙖𝙮'𝙨 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙. How can multinational corporations navigate the evolving geopolitical landscape in 2024? Consider these factors: 🟢 𝗩𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰: More than 4 billion people have the right to vote, indicating a significant global democratic engagement. 🔴 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘁𝘀: Two ongoing regional conflicts are causing security concerns and disrupting supply chains, with no immediate solutions visible. 🔴 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗿𝘀: There is an increase in trade barriers between Eastern and Western nations. In line with Elevandi’s commitment to developing innovation ecosystems, a #PZF2024 roundtable discussion yesterday titled 𝗣𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗸: 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 explored navigating macro-geopolitical dynamics.
