Aviation Sustainability Forum

The primary purpose of the Aviation Sustainability Forum (ASF)is to help and support Aviation understand the issue and composition of passenger cabin waste, reduce the amount of waste we generate and improve waste circularity. The endorsement of our work by International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the launch of the ASF audit platform in September ‘24 is a big step forward towards the collaboration needed to solve the cabin waste problem. Exciting news from IATA and the ASF…… We are delighted to announce that the ASF and IATA are formally collaborating on the development of a Standard Cabin Waste Composition Audit Program to be adopted by the entire aviation sector. This is a major step forward for aviation and the ASF’s journey to support airlines, caterers and airports to reduce cabin waste and improve circularity within our sector. As we continue with the development of our ground breaking Cabin Waste Composition Audit Program supported by SATS Ltd. in Singapore, it is clear that the rich data we are gathering is enabling key stakeholders in the inflight supply chain to evaluate and make informed decisions round waste mitigation resulting in both financial savings and emissions reduction. With the support of International Air Transport Association (IATA) and airline caterers we now look forward to rolling out the ASF Audit Program via an expanding network of audit corridors around the world and using this aggregated, standardised data to help our industry track and measure its progress to reduce cabin waste levels and improve cabin waste circularity. https://lnkd.in/draBrBCS #cabinwaste #wastereduction #circularity Read more about the benefits of this collaboration here…

Members of the ASF team were delighted to get together for a meeting in London last week. This photograph was taken on a rare break - by the Thames in the (even rarer!) brilliant sunshine! Our sector leading Cabin Waste Composition Audit programme is still ongoing and providing airlines with rich data that can help with waste reduction and circularity initiatives. World Travel Catering & Onboard Services Expo always offers such a good opportunity for the inflight industry to come together. We were pleased to be able to lead the panel event at #tasteoftravel on Cabin Waste and participate in the #PEC. The time is now to address this issue. The ASF has an established Cabin Waste Composition Audit programme which is ongoing and growing all the time.
