We are excited to help bring WAAM3D's newest offering MiniWAAM® to the ASEAN market.   Equipped with a 3-axis overhead CNC system and a 500 mm rotational table, MiniWAAM® brings together the best of RoboWAAM®in a smaller package. The system allows our customers to have faster turn arounds when building smaller parts as well as enables easier testing and characterization for wire material and process development. WAAM features two main arc processes: Plasma Transferred Arc (PTA) and Metal Inert Gas (MIG). In addition, we have our patented CWMIG variant, and the patented addition of in-process cold-work. PTA is particularly beneficial when dealing with complex geometries where there are a number of changes in thicknesses, or intersecting features. The process is generally used to deposit most of the weldable alloys, such as titanium, aluminium, iron, nickel and many more. MIG is suitable for less complex geometries, with few intersecting features or little changes to their thickness. Different to PTA, in the MIG process the wire is the consumable electrode and is coaxial within the deposition head. The MIG process can use different steel grades but also numerous aluminium alloys and nickel alloys. CWMIG(R) adds another wire to the MIG process, to increase deposition rates further with even better mechanical properties thanks to the more efficient use of the process heat. In addition, with our patented in-process cold-work, a forged-like level of strength can be achieved with cost, time and environmental benefits of WAAM without compromising on performance.
