Om oss

In 1960, Åke Nordin founded Fjällräven in the Swedish town of Örnsköldsvik. Since then, Fjällräven has made a commitment to high quality and high-end design, while staying true to our mission of developing timeless, functional and durable outdoor equipment, acting responsible towards people, animals and nature and inspiring people to get outside. We want to inspire and enable more people to experience nature. We do this by developing clothing and equipment that make the outside safer, warmer, dryer and generally more enjoyable. And by running events that provide the framework and support to make nature more accessible. We’re a team of nature lovers, some more experienced than others, that likes to spend as much time outdoors as possible. In our offices and our stores we are designers, product developers, buyers, administrators, marketers, communicators, sales staff, customer service reps and business developers. In nature though, we’re all the same. Do you want to help us to inspire and enable more people to walk with nature? We're always interested in people who want to join our trek. Sustainability is our guiding principle and we know that our efforts here are a big reason why many of you use our gear. So, it’s an exciting day here at Fjällräven, because we can share our latest sustainability and CSR summary.    From a yearly increase of 10% preferred-fibre use to achieving our 2025 target of 100% renewable electricity in owned and operated locations, we’re confident we’re taking the right steps to meet our targets. But there is more work to be done. A lot more.    We’re on a long, challenging, but infinitely rewarding journey and we’re so pleased to have you join us along this path. Start exploring here: https://lnkd.in/dtJFbFJ9    #Fjallraven

We talk about sustainability. A lot. Like, avoid sitting next to us a dinner party – a lot. The thing is, talk is cheap, so every year we dive deep into our work to ensure we’re delivering on our promises and examine where we can continue towards reducing our environmental impact.    To be as transparent as possible regarding our efforts, we publish our findings as part of the annual Fenix Outdoor CSR report. We know, however, that such reports aren’t exactly ‘everyday reading’, so we’ve summarised all the facts, figures, milestones and challenges from 2023 in a more digestible format we’re releasing next week. Mark your calendar!    #Fjallraven

Meet our CEO, Martin Axelhed. He recently wrote a letter proposing a deal between us at Fjällräven and you, the Fjällräven customer. In his letter, he wrote: "If we promise to continue to work hard, making long-lasting products with as little environmental impact as possible, will you promise to let those products work hard too? To use them for many years and not replace them with new products one or two seasons later?".     So, what do you say? Do we have a deal?     #Fjallraven

Removing PFCs from all our products required extracting them from every level of our operations and systematically going through every single component of every single product and every single production process. It's a complex and painstaking task and we've been at it since 2009. Why? Because when something is the right thing to do, you do it. Read up on the process here: https://lnkd.in/gjV_e9JR #Fjallraven

Meet J.R. Harris, Fjällräven Ambassador and a trekking legend from NYC. Last year, Harris led a project supported by The Explorers Club and the Kilimanjaro Initiative where he guided a group of young adults from NYC to climb Kilimanjaro together with a local group from Kenya, Tanzania, and Somalia. The result was a once-in-a-lifetime adventure on the highest mountain in Africa with life-long memories.    We at Fjällräven are proud to support J.R. Harris' work in enabling people from all walks of life to experience nature.     Do you know anyone who is dedicated to sharing the wonders of nature with others? Comment below, we'd love to hear about it!    #Fjallraven

At Fjällräven, we believe that the freedom to roam in nature comes with the responsibility to leave it in better condition than we found it. That's why we're so proud of our very own trash bag. What started as a free giveaway at events has now evolved into an important brand touchpoint — and a way for people all over the world to clear up litter from trails and nature spots.    Want to read the full story of our amazing trash bag? Find it here: https://lnkd.in/dmNk_BnM    #Fjallraven
