Developing technologies to meet the sustainability goals of the future
Om oss
Our ambition is to play a key role in tackling climate change, by enabling green chemistry for every industry. We do this by creating the most general and efficient technology platform for chemical production that the world has ever seen. That’s a big claim, but we can stand behind it. By bio-upgrading the chemical industry with our cell-free biomanufacturing platform, we can produce the products that modern society relies on in a truly sustainable way. The technology platform utilises nature’s catalysts, enzymes, by combining the power of biology with the efficiency of the chemical industry in a best-of-both-worlds solution. EnginZyme is recognised as a Technology Pioneer by World Economic Forum and backed by Sofinnova Partners, Industrifonden, SEB Greentech VC, Bunge Ventures, Almi Invest GreenTech Fund, and Navigare Ventures.

Our latest article is all about robots. We love our lab robots because they save so much time. In this piece, David Lloyd, our Senior Lab Automation Engineer, discusses one of robots' major limitations: they have to be told exactly what to do. Why can't we teach them the basics, and let them learn from experience? And why can't we have robots that get motivated by the purpose behind their mundane tasks? #AI #robotics #greenchemistry

From the annual AOCS meeting in Montréal: A big 'Thank You' to Chris Dayton, who leads food-oil technology efforts at the Fortune Global 500 company Bunge, for presenting the technical aspects of a key food-oils project Bunge and enginzyme have been working on: replacing batch chemical interesterification with a cleaner, more efficient and sustainable enzymatic process. #enzymes #lowcarbon #greenchemistry

It is always nice when smart people from your industry take a real interest in what you are up to. Anthony Maiorana, the pen behind The Polymerist, has circled back to update his readers on EnginZyme. We were high-fiving around the office when his first piece on EnginZyme came out in 2022, and this follow-up is even more interesting. You don't have to be a total chemistry geek to get it, so please, read on! #biobased #greenchemistry https://lnkd.in/etFSJXPT

Our CEO Karim Engelmark Cassimjee spoke with Simon Leich for the "Leaders on a Mission" podcast. Check it out if you are interested in #greenchemistry and #biomanufacturing. Here are a few of the main points Karim made over their 40-minute conversation. 🌳 The "green premium" may work with consumer products, but it does not work in the B2B world. "You need to sell something that is attractive at a reasonable cost." 🏭 The chemical industry has done enormous amounts of work to become greener. Such a large industry cannot undergo a “revolution.” EnginZyme’s technology slots in to existing systems and can help the industry evolve more quickly, using less energy and generating less waste. 💶 Of course less energy consumed and less waste to clean up translates into lower costs. “We try to be the partner that the industry needs — the go-to #synbio partner,” Karim said. 👨🔬 👩🔬 EnginZyme doesn’t just sell superefficient enzymatic catalysts. It operates like many other chemical companies — designing and licensing processes for its partners, and producing end products of its own conception. 🙏 A big "Thank You" to Simon for the opportunity!
