It's time to make your Mark on Scroll! Scroll's loyalty program kicks off with Session Zero. Obtain Marks by bridging assets to Scroll. Today, your journey into the onchain future is inscribed on Scroll. To be eligible for Session Zero, bridge ETH and wstETH via the native bridge and STONE using LayerZero. No additional transactions or activities are required for Session Zero. Over time, more assets and ways to obtain Scroll Marks will be announced. We will allocate Marks retroactively to members who have deployed assets on Scroll since October 10th, 2023, the date of the Scroll Mainnet genesis block. The Blobs are here! .oO Introducing Scroll's Bernoulli Upgrade Our latest protocol enhancement includes added support for EIP-4844, decreasing the cost of Scroll transactions by up to 10x. Ethereum's most recent upgrade, Dencun, introduced the eagerly anticipated EIP-4844, a feature designed to reduce the cost of posting rollup data to the Ethereum network. This mechanism acts as a secondary fee market, reducing the cost of data availability on Ethereum by allowing rollups to store transactional data within a novel concept known as "data blobs." In addition to integrating EIP-4844, Bernoulli will also include support for the SHA-256 precompile. As one of the EVM's precompiled contracts, SHA-256 offers efficient cryptographic processing, essential for secure data handling and other complex operations. As always, maintaining the highest degree of security is the number one priority for the development and hardening of the Scroll zkEVM. All contract changes have been rigorously audited by OpenZeppelin, and our circuit changes were audited by @trailofbits. Now, for the big question... wen Bernoulli? April 15th: the contract proposal was initiated through the Scroll multisig contract. April 29th: Following a 14-day timelock, Scroll will release a new version of L2 Geth and execute the upgrade contract on Scroll Mainnet. What's next for Scroll? We are constantly working on new features and optimizations to improve the Scroll zkEVM. In the coming months, we plan to utilize data compression to reduce gas costs even further, in addition to adding support for Ethereum's EIP-1559 fee mechanism. A legendary dApp has arrived 👻 AAVE V3, one of the foundational pillars of Ethereum's DeFi ecosystem, is now LIVE on Scroll Mainnet. https://lnkd.in/gQWz4AwN With this integration, AAVE is expanding its leading open-source liquidity protocol to the Scroll ecosystem, opening up further opportunities for growth, collaboration, and innovation at scale. Aave V3 offers a wide range of premium DeFi services, including lending/borrowing features and liquidity mining. The Aave community will benefit from Scroll's seamless UX, reduced gas costs, and much faster transaction times than Ethereum L1. Thanks to our Ethereum compatibility, interacting with Aave on Scroll is as simple as connecting your wallet and switching to the Scroll network. Bridging to Scroll is about to be a lot cheaper. 🌉 Our upcoming protocol upgrade improves efficiency and reduces bridging costs from Ethereum to Scroll by up to 50%. https://lnkd.in/gTJGVNbk The scope of this upgrade is limited to Scroll's smart contracts. Neither the sequencer nor follower nodes are affected. This bridge contract upgrade is backward compatible, meaning that most smart contract interfaces and functionalities will stay the same. In the weeks leading up to this upgrade, we conducted rigorous internal testing on our new contracts, in addition to numerous tests on Scroll Sepolia. All contract modifications have been audited by OpenZeppelin. The upgrade will be initiated on Feb 7th through the Scroll Multisig contract and will be subject to a two-week timelock. On Feb 21st, the upgrade will be executed on Scroll Mainnet, and Scroll users will begin to enjoy an approximate 50% reduction in bridging costs. What's next for Scroll?
