توصل فريق العلماء إلى الكشف عن رؤى جديدة تتحدى التصورات السائدة حول كيفية عيش السكان في شمال غرب الجزيرة العربية، ومن ذلك أسلوب الاستئناس مع الكائنات الحية وكذلك أساليب البناء والتي تتكون من ألواح حجرية عمودية. 

The team of scientists has uncovered new insights that challenge prevailing notions about how inhabitants of northwest Arabian Peninsula lived. These insights include methods of domestication with living creatures and building techniques involving vertical stone slabs.

أعلنت الهيئة الملكية لمحافظة العلا عن افتتاح الفرع الجديد للجامعة السعودية الإلكترونية في #العلا، على خلفية اتفاقية تعاون مشتركة وقّعت م�� الجامعة في 8 يوليو.  ويأتي هذا الافتتاح ضمن مستهدفات الهيئة لتحقيق التميز التعليمي ضمن استراتيجية تنمية القدرات البشرية، بما يسهم في تعزيز التنمية الاقتصادية والاجتماعية، ويتماشى مع #رؤية_السعودية_2030.  كما تُقدّم الهيئة منح دراسية لأبناء وبنات محافظة العلا، انطلاقًا من التزامها ببناء قدراتهم، وتوفير الدعم الذي يمكّنهم من تحقيق طموحاتهم الأكاديمية وتزويدهم بالمهارات اللازمة للتميز في سوق العمل والريادة المستقبلية. وقد حصلت الجامعة السعودية الإلكترونية على المرتبة الأولى على مستوى الجامعات السعودية، والمرتبة 33 عالميًا، في تصنيف التايمز الخاص بتأثير الجمعات في أهداف الأمم المتحدة للتنمية المستدامة لعام 2024، بما يؤكد تميزها في تنمية الإمكانات الفردية ومواكبة المعايير العالمية.  ويُعد افتتاح فرع الجامعة خطوةً هامةً لتحقيق مستهدفات الهيئة في بناء مجتمع مزود بالمهارات اللازمة للازدهار والمنافسة على مستويات عالمية.

The Royal Commission for AlUla has recently unveiled the new campus of Saudi Electronic University in AlUla, following a strategic agreement signed on 8 July. This development is part of RCU's comprehensive strategy to leverage education as a fundamental driver of socio-economic advancement, in line with #SaudiVision2030 goals. RCU will provide scholarships to fully fund the studies of a number of #AlUla residents, demonstrating a commitment to enhancing local educational opportunities and human capital development. It aims to equip these students with both academic knowledge and practical skills essential for driving innovation and supporting economic growth in the county and beyond. Saudi Electronic University, ranked first nationally and 33rd globally in The Times Higher Education Impact Ranking within UN Sustainable Development Goals, is recognised for its high standards. This ensures that students receive quality education that prepares them for both local and international opportunities. The launch of this campus marks a significant enhancement in RCU's educational and economic plans for AlUla, focusing on empowering a new generation to achieve academic success and thrive in the evolving job market.

حصلت الهيئة الملكية لمحافظة العلا على جائزة المستثمرين في المشتريات لمنطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا من معهد تشارترد للمشتريات والتوريد (CIPS - The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply)، وتعد الجائزة من أبرز الجوائز في قطاع المشتريات، وتؤكد على تميز الهيئة في دعم وتطوير المشتريات وسلاسل التوريد في المنطقة، كما تم ترشيح الهيئة الملكية لمحافظة العلا ضمن القوائم النهائية في فئتي: فريق المشتريات للعام للمنظمات الكبرى، وأفضل مبادرة لإدارة علاقات الموردين.

The Royal Commission for AlUla has received the Investors in Procurement Award for the Middle East and North Africa from (CIPS - The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply). This award is one of the most prestigious in the procurement sector. It reflects the commission's excellence in supporting and developing procurement and supply chains in the region. Additionally, the Royal Commission for AlUla has been shortlisted as a finalist in the categories of: Procurement Team of the Year for Large Organizations and Best Initiative in Supplier Relationship Management.

عرضت الهيئة الملكية لمحافظة العلا، خططها لاختيار موقع الرصد الرئيسي لمنارة العلا، خلال حضورها ملتقى خبراء مجال الهندسة الفلكية، الذي عقد مؤخرًا في اليابان.  وفيه قدم وفد العلا نتائج البحوث العلمية المكثفة التي أكدت أهمية الموقع المحدد بين محميتي حرة عويرض والغراميل والذي بدوره ساهم في رفع تصنيف العلا ضمن أكثر من10% من الأماكن ذات السماء الصافية والمظلمة، ولتصبح منارة العلا وجهة عالمية للاكتشافات العلمية.

The Royal Commission for AlUla showcased the plans to establish a suitable site for astronomical observation at the recent Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics) 2024 conference in Japan.   In the presence of the world’s astronomical instrumentation and scientific community, the AlUla delegation presented findings from vigorous scientific research and modelling, which has confirmed a site which borders the protected areas of Harrat Uwayrid and Al Gharameel as a good geographical position for astronomical purposes. This location has placed AlUla in the top 10% of the darkest skies globally. The AlUla Manara Observatory is poised to become a leading destination for astronomical and space discoveries.
