Indian Navy rescues critically injured Chinese sailor
India and China worked together to rescue a critically injured Chinese sailor, aboard the vessel Zhong Shan Men. The incident occurred on July 23 when the Maritime Rescue Coordination Center in Mumbai received a distress call from the Chinese ship, 370km off the coast, reporting a severe injury to a 51-year-old sailor that led to significant blood loss.
Despite ‘challenging weather conditions with winds over 45 knots and heavy rolling of the ship,’ a helicopter from the Indian Navy’s INS Shikra air station was dispatched and managed to airlift the injured sailor from the bridge wing of the vessel. The sailor was then transported to the air station and subsequently transferred to a hospital for further medical treatment. An Indian Coast Guard vessel was also redirected to provide additional assistance to the Chinese carrier.
Relations between India and China remain as frosty as the ‘Line of Actual Control’ that is disputed. The world’s highest altitude border dispute has threatened to turn violent many times, however diplomatic efforts are ongoing to resolve tensions. Life-saving cooperation like this surely can’t hurt.
Taxicab besieged by machete gang as passenger fights them off
If the passenger in the back of your cab screams ‘DRIVE’ while various sharp objects are being poked into the car, you would do well to start driving. It took our hero a few seconds to realize this, presumably because he wasn’t prepared for being surrounded by a machete-wielding gang in the middle of his shift.
Dashcam footage from an incident in London on June 23 shows this exact scenario play out, as a terrified man desperately fights off people trying to stab him. The attackers had pulled up behind the cab in another vehicle, and one of them smashes the cab’s window as blades fly at the passenger from all sides.
The cab eventually pulls away, making the slowest getaway known to man (thanks ULEZ). Thankfully, the passenger’s injuries were not life threatening, but he still decided to go to the hospital, and perhaps wisely, decided to make his way there himself.

Azov Battalion's Euro tour partly cancelled | Turns out not everyone in Europe likes neo-Nazism
The Ukrainian neo-Nazi Azov Battalion's European tour has been partially cancelled, with only Prague and Vilnius remaining as their destinations. It seems that Europe is not tolerant enough to tolerate neo-Nazism (Yay, humanity is not doomed yet).

Netanyahu visit to DC sparks violent protests
Thousands of angry protesters descended on Washington DC for a protest in and around the Capitol… stop us if you’ve heard this one before. But unlike January 6, 2020, the July 24, 2024 protests were about Gaza, and they turned violent. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was in Washington asking them to spare any taxpayer money they hadn’t yet given to Ukraine, giving an historic fourth address to Congress. The protest spread far and wide, causing clashes with police all over the city, some minor animal cruelty, 1970s nostalgia and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez retreating once again to the safety of under her desk (possibly).
Outside the Capitol, US flags were burned, Palestinian flags were erected, police officers were dragged and beaten and at least two memorials – a replica of the Liberty Bell and the Christopher Columbus Memorial Fountain – were desecrated. Protesters channeled their inner Richard Nixon and broke into the Watergate Hotel, where Netanyahu was staying, to deposit an elite unit of anti-Israel maggots onto a dining table, before setting off all the fire alarms and running away. The protests even reached inside the chamber itself, with Palestinian American Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib holding up a comically tiny sign saying ‘War Criminal.’
Surely, the US media will denounce this violent insurrection in the nation’s capital.
