Personal profile

Overview

Adeyemi Adelekan works at the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research, where he explores how circular business models are developed, established, and scaled. He focuses his research both at the organizational level, examining the circular strategies of social enterprises, and at the systems level, exploring the co-creation of circular business models in multi-stakeholder settings, drawing on theories of organization and institutions in his research. Previously, he contributed to the "One Bin to rule them all" project, a £1.5M NERC-funded collaboration led by The University of Manchester. This project aimed to develop digitally-enabled collaborative business models for a plastic circular economy in the UK. Additionally, Adeyemi conducted research with the Centre for Enterprise and Economic Development Research (CEEDR) at Middlesex University London, using hybrid organizing and institutional work as theoretical lenses to explore circular economy strategies of social enterprises in Lagos, Nigeria. He disseminates outputs from his research through published papers, submissions under review, and presentations at local and international conferences, workshops, seminars, podcasts, and blogs.

Adeyemi holds an MBA with Distinction from Salford Business School and a BSc (Hons) in Communications Technology from the National Open University of Nigeria. Leveraging his diverse professional background in business management, administration, and IT, Adeyemi directs a technical support platform that regularly organizes impact-focused workshops for African social entrepreneurs and consults for early-stage entrepreneurs organizing for sustainability in Africa and the UK.
