Arkadiusz Wiśniowski joined Social Statistics Department as a Lecturer in August 2015. Currently, he is a Head of Department, as well as a member of the Advisory Board of the Cathie Marsh Institute. In the past, he was Department Postgraduate Director (2020/21) and Department Undergraduate Teaching Director (2017-2019), as well as a lead of the Statistical Modelling Research Group at the Cathie Marsh Institute (2019-2023). 

Previously, he worked as a Research Fellow at the ESRC Centre for Population Change and Southampton Statistical Sciences Research Institute (University of Southampton), Researcher at the Central European Forum for Migration and Population Research (Polish Academy of Sciences and International Organisation for Migration) and Teaching and Research Assistant at the Department of Applied Econometrics (Warsaw School of Economics).

I work on developing statistical methods for modelling and forecasting complex social processes, with a particular focus on migration and mobility, and combining traditional and new forms of data. I also have a general interest in time series analysis and forecasting, hierarchical models, Bayesian computational methods, survey methods, opinion polls and ageing.
