Along with his business partner and friend Ivan Bešlić (COO and Co-founder), Hrkać will be featured in the highly anticipated “SofaScore: A Tale of Two Founders” session at the Super Stage in the MEO Arena on Wednesday, September 25th, from 14:45 to 15:30. Key points from the interview - • Originally, when we thought about the name for the initial live score data app we created from a blog, we knew it had to be something global, something unique, and with the same meaning across the whole globe. We agreed on “Sofascore,” inspired by the idea of sitting comfortably on your sofa while having instant access to comprehensive sports scores and statistics. • I would say that our relationship with our users has progressively grown over the last decade.  While ten years ago it would have been enough to be the first provider of simple information like what is the result and who scored, today’s users seek much more than that. It’s not just about the information, but the context of the information. • Our product roadmap isn’t focused on projects others already implemented; rather, we focus on listening to our customers and their feedback. Our team consists of sports enthusiasts with valuable experiences and insights, so we filter every shared idea and create our future product development accordingly. In this insightful interview for the Affiliate Leaders series, Eugene shares his journey in affiliate marketing, discusses the impact of AI and content diversification, and offers his perspective on the future of the industry. Key points from the interview - •I’ve been working as the Communications and Marketing Manager at MightyTips since March 2023. It’s my first role in affiliate marketing, having spent most of my professional career as a sports journalist and editor with UEFA.com, the official site of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). Initially, my role involved leveraging my connections in the football world and using an individual approach to boost our brand awareness and generate backlinks by securing partnerships with football clubs, individuals and sports media. •The first thing that comes to mind is AI, of course. It’s everywhere, and it’s here to stay. Let’s just hope it won’t be a Skynet scenario. While it hasn’t impacted our operations on a strategic level, we do use it daily to help with research, generate content ideas, create visuals, etc. However, we resist the strong urge to use AI for content writing. For us, AI serves as somewhat of an understudy who can get the “dirty work” done, allowing us to focus on bigger and more important tasks. •Regardless of the region, having proper SEO, a strong website with a clear and convenient UI/UX, and quality content is always a good idea. SEO is our core tool at MightyTips, and the rest is not just marketing strategy but pure respect for your potential customers. Treat people with respect and give them what is useful, and they will eventually appreciate it. The concept of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles is reshaping the landscape of the gambling industry, prompting stakeholders to reassess their values and priorities. Key points from the interview - •Having seen quite a bit of the world and witnessed firsthand the mess that we humans have made, I have a strong desire to contribute to making the world better. Sustainability and ethics have been passions of mine since my early 20s. Therefore, ESG and sustainability are at the core of what I do and the business I’m building. It was a logical next step in my career, providing purpose while filling a gap in the affiliate space. •The problem I see is that the rate at which companies adopt ESG is too slow, and I think there are several reasons for this. Primarily, it affects the bottom line because costs have to be incurred. There’s also uncertainty about the long-term benefits. While many ideas, such as anticipating regulation, improving brand image and reputation, enhancing employee satisfaction, and fostering customer loyalty, sound promising, we don’t yet have the numbers to back up these claims. They seem logical on paper, but most businesses take a ‘wait and see’ approach and aren’t keen on being the first movers. •I run an SEO and content marketing agency, and we’ve always focused on quality content and white-hat SEO. Most of the sites I’ve worked on over the years have been steadily improving. I didn’t see any negative effects with the core updates this year, nor did they improve significantly. The trend is still going up, which reassures me that our approach has been the right one for me and my clients.
