About the Program
NYU Stern created the online MS in Quantitative Management (MSQM) to help students navigate and excel in today’s data-driven business world. It provides learners with a unique blend of core business knowledge and in-demand analytics skills. NYU Stern is the only top-ranked business school in the United States offering an online masters in management.
The MSQM is open to applicants with any undergraduate major and varying levels and types of professional experience. For some individuals, the degree serves as an MBA alternative. For those who want but are not ready to pursue an MBA, it offers a possible path into Stern’s top-ranked Langone Part-time MBA program. For everyone, the part-time MSQM provides a rigorous curriculum with a program format, structure, and schedule that supports work-life balance.
The MSQM courses engage students through an innovative suite of individual and group activities, assignments, and optional live sessions.
Program Format and Schedule
The MSQM is a part-time cohort-based program predominantly delivered online. Students complete the degree in 20 months, taking 22 short courses, one at a time, for a total of 33 credits.
MSQM’s online format is asynchronous with optional synchronous elements, including live weekly sessions with the instructor.
The program includes two immersive four-day residential opportunities: one at the start of the program in mid-August and the other a year later. Both are scheduled over a weekend.
During these residencies, students connect face-to-face with their cohort, faculty, and the larger Stern community; they also experience the vitality of New York City. Additionally, students complete the in-person components of three MSQM courses.
Students take courses throughout their time in the program, with a variety of long weekends off and other breaks.
