Two people that know the in’s and outs of the law. One of my new favorites podcasts and I’ve listed to hundred hours or more. We all can be manipulated by opinions of podcasters. I really thought Adnan Syed was not guilty until I listened. I’ve listened to all of their episodes but the first 4 episodes of Adnan Syed episode inspired me to write a review. Coverage of the Karen Read trial was truly scary stuff. Just nonstop mental gymnastics to figure out how the presentation of a very basic defense was the problem with the proceedings rather than the disgraceful buffoonery of almost every individual acting on behalf of the Commonwealth. I too wish that the facts of the events leading to the death of the actual victim (John O'Keefe - not the random family these 2 seem to endlessly champion) was clear. But - unfortunately - it was not because the police did not properly investigate at all. Instead investigators behaved in an absolutely disgusting manner while failing at every opportunity to follow any protocols or rules of evidence collection. The vitriol of these 2 at Karen Read for pointing out the shameful failings of the investigation was terrifying. Also that family's lamentations at not enjoying the scrutiny of a MURDER investigation has absolutely no remote relevance to the subject of the case (i.e. did Karen Read kill John O'Keefe?). When these 2 argued on a loop that fairness dictates that the witnesses' time testifying in this case was their opportunity to point out how the investigation and public scrutiny ruined their lives was absolutely maddening and just so disrespectful to the victim. My God- A man is dead. My sympathy is with him exclusively. I wish that the investigation into his death was conducted with the diligence and respect he deserved from the Commonwealth he served. It is a tragedy that it was not. A defense is meant to be presented in a murder trial. Defense counsel were the only individuals that behaved professionally and fulfilled their oath by presenting a diligent defense for their client. Get it together u 2.

I’m a bleeding heart liberal and I’m aware of the politics of these podcasters. I’ve been a fan anyway because I’m interested in their legal perspective. And now I really appreciate their unpopular perspective on the Karen Read trial. They’re examining facts, not the narrative spun by the defense, social media, and an attention-seeking faux journalist. Thanks for the sanity.
