Sustainable product is an essential part of our development, which we covered comprehensively in the Solaris 2023 Sustainability Report. The focal point of the Report is our constructive impact on the transition of Europe’s public transport. Zero- and low-emission buses accounted for as much as 82% of all vehicles marketed last year. In 2023, we once again took the number one position in Europe’s zero-emission city bus market. Moreover, we achieved the best performance in hydrogen technology: almost every second hydrogen-powered city bus in Europe was sold by our company, demonstrating our leadership in transitioning urban mobility towards carbon neutrality. We remain committed to innovation, including by continuously designing new battery solutions. In 2023, a dedicated battery competence centre was established within the company’s structures, called the Solaris Battery HUB. The centre was established to ensure comprehensive management of battery-related work and pursue the implementation of a closed-loop economy approach in respect of lithium-ion batteries. We are pleased to present the details of our sustainability efforts included in the Solaris 2023 Sustainability Report.   Recently published Solaris Sustainability Report for 2023 outlines our ongoing commitment to the advancement of responsible governance. The Report depicts the processes preparing our company to attain the ambitious goal of carbon neutrality by 2045. Among many other activities it is worth highlighting that we were granted an Ecovadis Platinium rating in ESG. Over 90% of the vehicles we manufacture in our company are low- and zero-emission. Each of these requires a specific commissioning process, the starting point of their years-long journey. Commissioning Specialists and highly qualified Electricians are the group of employees who are in charge of these operations. They perform the final connections, inspection and calibration of the electrical equipment and, for hydrogen buses, also the commissioning of the fuel cell and confirmation of the integrity of the installation. It is because of our skilled and engaged employees that we are able to continually develop in the field of zero-emission vehicles and present improvements to our customers. Join our e-team! We have secured a new contract in the French market. Our company was selected in a tender issued by public transport authority Artois Mobilités in collaboration with the Transdev Group and the French central procurement office for public transport La Centrale d’Achat du Transport Public (CATP). The order comprises four Solaris Urbino 12 hydrogen buses and will be completed at the beginning of 2025. "There are a number of arguments in favor of hydrogen. First of all, it is absolutely emission-free during operation. Additionally, there are significant advantages such as long ranges, a fast refueling process, flexibility in managing a fleet of hydrogen vehicles and a distinguishingly quiet ride. I congratulate Artois Mobilités on this decision and look forward to our cooperation," said Brice Bonavia, Director of Solaris France. The new contract strengthens our position as a leader in the European zero-emission vehicle market. In the hydrogen product segment, we offer buses in two lengths: 12 and 18 meters. These state-of-the-art solutions for public transportation have already been implemented in 25 cities across Europe. More than 220 Solaris Urbino hydrogen buses carry passengers in cities such as Barcelona, Bratislava, Frankfurt, Madrid, Poznan and Venice. Here are future professionals who recognise the potential of hydrogen in transport and the economy. It was our pleasure to be part of the H2 Academy - a project that gets us closer to a zero-emission future. June was the closing month of the H2 Academy. As part of it, thirty outstanding students attended a series of workshops and lectures at the universities and the headquarters of companies actively engaged in the development of the hydrogen economy. An unique hydrogen project, exceptional students and a fascinating look into the future. This is how we can sum up the H2 Academy. In recent months, a group of thirty outstanding students interested in development in the field of hydrogen technology have been expanded their knowledge and broadened skills under the supervision of the best experts from Poland and other countries in Europe. In April, students explored the arcana of public transport based on hydrogen during the workshops at our company's headquarters. Last Friday in Warsaw, we officially finished this edition of the H2 Academy. For us and a number of students, this is just the beginning of a new stage - we invited three of them to Solaris for an internship under the leadership of our experts. Hydrogen technology is one of the fastest growing sectors in Europe and is already perceived as one of the key elements of the energy mix of the future. Our company has been developing vehicles based on hydrogen cells since 2014, and in 2023, almost half of the hydrogen buses registered in Europe were Solaris buses. We believe that many years of our experience and our vision of future development, together with the enthusiasm of our new colleagues, will bring great results.
