Systemic problems in the lawmaking process often result in flawed laws. ODIHR works with countries across the OSCE region to help improve their lawmaking processes based on key principles of democratic lawmaking. This week, we hosted Ukrainian parliament and government officials as well as leading legal experts from across Europe in Warsaw to discuss how the rule of law and human rights principles can be integrated at each stage of the legislative cycle to help make high-quality laws. We thank our partners Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD) and USAID for co-organizing this workshop. On #WorldRefugeeDay, we look at the human rights risks of using new technologies in border management and their impact on refugees across the OSCE region. Integrating #HumanRights in the development of new border technologies from the outset can help increase the protection of migrants and #refugees crossing borders. But the same technologies can seriously undermine rights if not developed and used in line with international human rights obligations. ODIHR supports OSCE countries to ensure the human rights of everyone crossing borders are respected. Find out more: https://lnkd.in/dwuv-yj6

Advancing #GenderEquality is both a men’s and a women’s issue, and male politicians play a crucial role in supporting and promoting women as political leaders.
