How identical does a "duplicate" question have to be? There are a lot of examples of very similar questions cropping up again (since thinkingman this has been a trend even). e.g. this qestion asks why Wittgenstein thought logical form was inexpressible via language, and this question asks in what way it can be expressed via language. An answer to the former would make the latter irrelevant, and perhaps vice versa. These sorts of overlaps are quite common and a little irritating, especially about theistic questions (Occam's razor and religion seems to have come up so many times).

If we want to be able to close more things as duplicates, we should probably create some canonical questions that ask and answer the question more generally and comprehensively, and aren't dragged down by specific details that may otherwise make it a poor duplicate target for a related question.– NotThatGuyCommented Apr 30 at 10:56

'irritating' says more about the OP than the questions. I think duplicates are useful because a search may bring up one and not another– PsionmanCommented May 4 at 11:20
