For us, one of the main advantages of using a standard is that we can educate ourselves on what's acceptable and what's not.”  HOPE: Business for Good Managing Director Ilusion Farias joined us for a World Environment Day panel to mark the launch of Version 8 of our Plastic Pollution Reduction Standard (PPRS). HOPE, which runs the Aling Tindera waste-to-cash program, noted how the adoption of PPRS has changed the way projects and partners work together.  “I've seen the change in the Philippines in the language. We're now all speaking a similar language, which wasn't the case four or five years ago — everybody was referring to things in different ways. Last June 11, Holcim Philippines Inc. takes another step towards its commitment on sustainability by conducting a contract signing with HOPE. This partnership was honored by Holcim Philippines Inc. Chief Sustainability Officer Sam Manlosa, and Geocycle Commercial and Business Development Manager Riyann Romualdo Moster, alongside Friends of HOPE Inc. Managing Director Ilusion Farias, and Aling Tindera Senior Program Manager Marvin Fernandez. With the theme of "forging a circular community," the partnership dedicates itself in reducing plastic waste through collaboration and innovation within the nation.

The land on which Bungo Elementary School was built is now being reclaimed by its landowner. This school, which has been the foundation of education for the 397 students living in Barangay Bungo, is now facing the critical challenge of relocation. HOPE is building two classrooms sponsored by PhilSeven Foundation and Abenson / W&J Lim Foundation. Thanks to this collaboration, the school's transition to its new location has been made easier. The steps to reaching the goal of providing additional classrooms in the new location has begun. Groundbreaking activities and the commencement of construction took place last May 23, giving HOPE to the students and their community. #partnership #abenson #philseven #seveneleven

How do you like to spend your weekends? Amazon employees decide to make it fulfilling by making an impact on the world. HOPE’s Aling Tindera program and Amazon partnered up to clean over 69 kg of waste in Baseco Beach, Manila. They even went to examine the container van that Amazon generously donated to our program. We would like to give a special shout out to one of our Aling Tinderas, Aling Grace, who helped us weigh and sort the plastics that were cleaned during the event.
