Horace Nathaniel Kerman

Horace Nathaniel Kerman Jr., age 85, died April 30, 2024, in Logandale, NV. He was born November 2, 1938 in Wilson, North Carolina to Horace N. Kerman and Lillian McCullough Kerman.

Horace entered the U.S. Air Force just after graduating from high school in Wilson, NC. He was trained as a single engine jet aircraft mechanic and assigned to Nellis AFB, NV. While serving a tour with the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, he married Patricia Ann Page in Wilson, NC. During the Cuban missile crisis, he was transferred to Germany and later to Thailand during the Vietnam War. Receiving an Honorable Discharge, he and Patricia started a home in Las Vegas. Horace began working for the U.S. Postal Service in Las Vegas in the maintenance craft. Patricia died suddenly in 1991. Their children, Penny and James were the backbone of the family for quite a while. Horace married Peggy Beardin at First Presbyterian Church on February 14, 1993. Horace retired from the Postal Service in Jan 1994.

Peggy and Horace moved to Overton, NV in late 1995, attending Calvary Community Church most of that time. Horace's hobbies kept him busy as well as making new friends and gaining a larger family.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy of Overton; one son and one daughter: James (Melissa) Kerman of Henderson, NV, and Penny (Mark) Harris of Overton, NV; two step-children, Monte (Cindy) Beardin and Leanne (John) Cole; eleven grandchildren; one great grandson; and one sister, Brenda Herman of Winter Garden, FL.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Calvary Community Church at a later date.

Plant a tree: How does it work

When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.

An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.

After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.

Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.

Tree Planting Timeline

Orders placed in:
