We are heartbroken to announce the anniversary of the passing of Darrell Lee Holt, who left us on July 8, 2023, in Las Vegas, NV due to cardiac arrest. Born on August 29, 1960, in Bellingham, WA to Ellen (Boskovich) and Harvey Holt, Darrell was a loving son, brother, a cherished friend, and a treasured member of his community.
Darrell's life was filled with a fervent passion for sports. In his youth in Santa Clara, CA, he excelled in baseball and football, embodying the spirit of sportsmanship and teamwork. His love for sports extended into his professional life, where he worked in Race and Sports since moving to Las Vegas in the early '90s. Known for his vast sports knowledge, by all accounts Darrell had forgotten more about horses and sports than most people ever knew.
Darrell also had a great appreciation for comedy and humor, which brought joy to those around him. His adventurous spirit led him to try his hand at acting in the early 2000s, where he appeared in the TV show "Las Vegas."
Survived by his two sisters, Stephanie Holt of San Jose, CA, AlLana Barden of Pahrump, NV, his longtime love Cindy of Las Vegas, and ex-wife Melissa of Monterey, CA, Darrell was a man with a big heart and a generosity that knew no bounds. Everyone who knew him loved him, and his kindness and warmth left a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him.
Darrell's legacy lives on in the hearts and memories of those who loved him. A memorial party was held in his honor last August, with about 70 close friends, family, and coworkers traveling from near and far to celebrate his life and the joy he brought to theirs. Great memories and stories were shared. Well, some of the great ones were shared; some remain as memories and knowing smiles :)
Darrell Holt is deeply missed, but his spirit, marked by his love for his friends and family, for sports, for humor, and his unparalleled generosity, will remain in our hearts forever. In his memory, his simple yet profound words: "Be Good."

Plant a tree: How does it work
When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.

Orders placed in:
January - May
Planting will take place in Spring or Summer of the same year.
June - December
Planting will take place in Spring of the following year.
