We're excited to be moving our global headquarters and Northern Regional office to Wynyard Quarter in 2025. We're the anchor tenant in Precinct Properties' Wynyard Quayside development at 124 Halsey Street, which is currently under construction. Beca is part of the team working on this particular building and has also worked on several other projects that have contributed to the regeneration of Wynyard Quarter, so watching the Beca sign being lifted into place this week was a special moment for the project team - some of whom were on site at the time! The development recently received a 6-star 'World Leadership' Design rating from the NZGBC. Once completed, Precinct is also targeting a 6-star Built rating and Beca is targeting WELL Certification for our fitout, which means our new home will really bring Beca's sustainability, wellbeing and workplace goals to life. This world-class building in the centre of Auckland not only better reflects Beca’s vision for its future, it also allows Beca to proudly support the revival of Auckland’s CBD. We're particularly looking forward to being within easy walking distance of so many of our clients and partners - and all that downtown Auckland has to offer! #Beca #MakeEverydayBetter #WynyardQuarter

“I've got this theory about change, that when people are standing far away from the change, it looks ‘doable’, even really exciting. And then as it gets closer, it can just look overwhelming. And then once it's behind you, people actually forget about it as change and it instantly becomes ‘how it has always been’. Our Group Chief Executive Amelia Linzey shares insights from her life experiences in this interview with The Aotearoa Circle. She discusses how we can take on necessary changes for the climate outcomes we desire. How do you feel about welcoming change to achieve the climate results we need? We look forward to reading your comments. Read more > https://lnkd.in/g8XZEX57 #Beca #MakeEverydayBetter #ClimateChange #Sustainability #FutureGenerations

Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting fourteen work experience students from The Mac.Robertson Girls' High School School in Melbourne as part of our ongoing STEAM partnership. A highlight of the week was visiting an active construction site, and immersing the students in practical issues and the thrill of seeing the project being built. We had the pleasure of visiting the Elizabeth Street sewer upgrade project hosted by Greater Western Water and Rob Carr Pty Ltd. The students learnt about tunnel boring machines, as well as the challenges of working in constrained brownfield sites. Huge thanks to the students and everyone involved in facilitating this incredible experience! #Beca #MakeEverydayBetter #BecaAustralia #STEAMPartnership #WorkExperience

"Positive storytelling of a better world is a critical part of bringing all of our communities along with us on the journey. We need to craft our messages in a way that people can relate to and that’s a challenge in itself. "The water industry has developed a position of trust over many years and this creates a foundation to be the storytellers of our future." Peter Dennis - AWA President and General Manager Beca Hunter H2O features in a recent article by Australian Water Association (AWA). He reflects on his lessons from #Ozwater24 and shares some exciting themes shaping the future of water. Argosy Property Limited's redevelopment of 8 Willis Street and Dawson’s Corner is home to one of Wellington’s most resilient and iconic buildings. It's also a multi-award-winning sustainable workplace that inspires teams to do their best work. This redevelopment is a fantastic story for New Zealand, demonstrating how a tired 1980s office building with precast concrete floors can be radically, and efficiently, upcycled. Plus, it restored Wellington’s much-loved Stewart Dawson’s Corner shop front as part of the new 18,700m2 premium mixed-use space. Applying our structural optimisation process, we doubled the 1980s building’s usable space and transformed it into a modern, vibrant and energy-efficient workplace with market-leading seismic performance, all with minimal structural changes. Recognised most recently with the Supreme Award at the Property Council New Zealand Property Industry Awards, this project is a testament to innovation, sustainability and adaptive reuse, also winning coveted Best in Category awards for ‘Commercial Office’ and ‘Heritage & Adaptive Reuses’, and Excellence in ‘Sustainable Building’. This latest award adds to the recognition received from various internationally acclaimed associations, including the The Institution of Structural Engineers (iStructE) Structural Award, New Zealand Society for Earthquake Engineering (NZSEE) John Hollings Award, and Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) Awards. How do we nurture the water needs of our nation’s “bush capital” for generations to come? By putting together a Joint Venture of experienced engineers with a strong track record of success, which is exactly what Beca and GHD have done. We’re thrilled to be appointed by Icon Water as their engineering services provider, to oversee the strategic planning, conceptual design and delivery of their $1 billion capital works program over the next 10 years.
