The 60 Best Prime Day Sleep Deals, According to Our Sleep Writer

In this article

It’s day two of Amazon Prime Day, meaning the Strategist staff has spent the last two days putting our prodigious deal-finding skills to use by sifting through the overwhelming number of so-called sales to find the ones that are actually worth your time. I’ve been tracking the best sleep-related deals (including on big-ticket items like mattresses), while my colleagues are hunting down the best discounts on home goods, kitchen items, toys and gear for kids and babies, and more. We spend all day every day testing products, interviewing experts, and keeping an eye on prices, so the TL;DR is that we know a Very Good Deal when we see one.

I’ve sorted through hundreds of Amazon listings to find actually good deals on mattresses, mattress toppers, pillows, bedding, and other sleep stuff — that means at least 20 percent off, unless it’s an item we love that’s rarely on sale. But the deals end tonight, so if you see something you like, don’t dillydally. You can stay on top of all our Prime Day coverage by bookmarking our Prime Day hub and signing up for our newsletter.

The Deals I Personally Think Are Best

If you’re only going to buy one or two things before Prime Day officially ends, these are the items I’d pick. I spend a lot of time price-checking various sleep products, and these are all things I don’t often see discounted this deeply. The Purple Harmony is my favorite pillow (I slept on it just last night!), and it’s about $20 cheaper than I’ve usually seen it on sale. The Hatch sunrise alarm clock is very popular (recommended by two Strategist writers and many people I’ve spoken to) but expensive, and this discount makes it a little more reasonably priced. And these Loop ear plugs are loved by multiple Strategist writers too — they’re designed to be comfortable to sleep in and priced the lowest they’ve been in months. This is a nice little discount on a good hybrid mattress from Leesa.

Leesa Sapira Hybrid Mattress - Queen

A solid 25 percent off this hybrid from Leesa. It’s fairly similar to the one above, with slightly thicker layers of foam.

The Tuft & Needle Original mattress is our favorite basic all-foam mattress, and it’s currently 30 percent off.

You can also get 30 percent off our favorite cooling mattress from Tuft & Needle. Strategist writer (and hot sleeper) Arielle Avila has this mattress and says it’s soft, supportive, and doesn’t cause her or her boyfriend to overheat.

Mattress Toppers

From $260

My favorite mattress topper is just over 40 percent off. Made with Tempur-Pedic’s signature foam, this topper is cushioning and supportive.

Linenspa’s mattress topper is simple but offers effective pressure relief.

Pillows

A low-loft memory-foam pillow that’s beloved by Strategist senior editor Crystal Martin.

Casper Original Pillow
From $46
From $46

The pillow that Strategist writer Brenley Goertzen evangelizes about to everyone she knows.

The reigning champ of pillows (a.k.a. our all-around top pick) is 20 percent off for Prime Day. We recommend it so widely partly because it’s adjustable — you can add or remove filling to change the loft and firmness to your liking.

I recently tested this cutout pillow from Coop and thought it made for a nice side sleeper pillow.

From $62 for 2

Our top pick for affordable down pillows is this two-pack that’s filled with a mix of down and feathers — and now it’s even more affordable at 34 percent off.

Tempur-Pedic Tempur-Neck Pillow
From $62
From $62

This firm, molded Tempur-Pedic pillow has helped Strategist senior editor Simone Kitchens greatly reduce her neck pain. It comes in three sizes to accommodate different sleeping positions and body sizes.

From $22

Our second-favorite memory-foam pillow is 30 percent off — a great deal considering how inexpensive it is in the first place.

From $199

My personal favorite pillow (and my top pick for latex pillows) is discounted much deeper than I usually see.

My favorite (adjustable!) body pillow is 20 percent off.

From $50

A little under 40 percent off another one of our favorite body pillows. It comes in a bunch of colors, all of which have different discounts.

Bedding

Strategist editor Jenna Milliner-Waddell defines her life as “pre–YNM blanket and post–YNM blanket.” It’s already more affordable than many other weighted blankets, but now you can get it for 25 percent off.

Strategist senior editor Jen Trolio is a fan of this weighted blanket with a cotton cover.

Or here’s 39 percent off a full-encasement option.

I have a set of these cotton sateen sheets and they are quite soft.

Tempur ProAir Sheet Set - Queen
$126
$126

These Tempur-Pedic sheets are made from a blend of cotton and Tencel, a great material for wicking away moisture.

20 percent off 100 percent long-staple cotton sateen sheets.

Kitsch Satin Pillowcase
From $14
From $14

Protect your hair with this polyester satin pillowcase. It provides similar benefits to a real silk pillowcase but for much cheaper.

$54

Or here’s almost half off the real thing.

Sleep aids and pajamas

Something to help you relax before you go to sleep.

Heal your lips while you sleep with what beauty writer Tembe Denton-Hurst calls “everyone’s favorite lip mask.”

Here’s 30 percent off some reusable silicone earplugs from Loop. Several Strategist staffers are fans of Loop — I have a pair of its Experience earplugs that have absolutely saved my ears at concerts, and the Quiet earplugs for sleeping are in my testing queue.

If you don’t like the feeling of ear plugs in your ear canal, I recommend these moldable silicone ear plugs that rest over the opening of your ear.

MZOO Sleep Eye Mask - Purple
$23
$23

Frankie Grande’s favorite eye mask, which he uses to block the 24-hour light in his Times Square apartment as well as to sleep on planes.

This lightly weighted eye mask puts writer Dana Covit to sleep in seconds. It’s like a weighted blanket for your face — and it comes in a nice selection of colors.

A “good dowdy nightgown,” according to fashion writer Ambar Pardilla.

Or this 100 percent silk T-shirt-and-shorts combo.

Cotton PJ pants from Millie Bobby Brown’s brand.

Bedroom tech and bedside gadgets

$145

Our favorite sunrise alarm clock is almost 30 percent off.

$150

Tech writer Jordan McMahon loves this smart alarm clock.

This minimalistic light from Casper functions like a sunrise alarm clock but looks like those floating lanterns from Tangled. It’s also gyroscopic — you can turn it on and off by flipping it upside down or change the light level by twisting it.

Ausaye Mushroom Night Lights
$14 for 2
$14 for 2

A great deal on a light-up mushroom for the cottagecore inclined. These are also Strategist writer Erin Schwartz’s favorite bathroom nightlights.

This three-color book light is especially handy for people (like me) who often stay up reading after their partner has gone to bed, and now it’s 44 percent off.

Oura Ring
From $297
From $297

A good deal on a minimalist sleep tracker. The discounts vary between 15 and 19 percent off, depending on which size and color you choose.

Our favorite mechanical sound machine is 20 percent off. It uses a fan to make white noise, rather than playing a recorded track.

Dreamegg White Noise Machine
$17
$17

This white-noise machine is portable — perfect for travel or for on-the-go with kids.

Soundcore Sleep A20 Earbuds
$120
$120

These sleep earbuds are actually comfortable to sleep in — even when laying on your side. I like to use them to listen to a podcast when lying down for a nap or to listen to something to distract myself when I can’t sleep.

Here’s a good deal on our favorite air purifier, beloved by three New York Magazine editors. City editor Chris Bonanos says this purifier is quiet (ideal for sleep) and that it has held up well to city air.

I think Crane makes really good humidifiers, and this one is really cute.

Frames and furniture

$455

Lucid’s already-affordable adjustable bed base is even cheaper than usual at 30 percent off. It has a wireless remote with a built-in flashlight to make it easy to use in the dark, and extra features include a programmable memory button to save your favorite bed position and built-in USB charging ports.

And here’s 22 percent off a split king adjustable base, which allows each side to be controlled independently. Though keep in mind you’ll need two twin XL mattresses for it to work.

For a simple but sturdy bed frame, home writer Lauren Ro recommends this Zinus frame.
