The Denver Nuggets have enlisted team vice-president Josh Kronke, a former Missouri basketball player who is only 30 years old, to try to talk Carmelo Anthony into signing an extension with the team. He continues to balk, which is great, because he obviously wants to come to New York and play for the — wait, whaa? Yahoo Sports reported that Anthony is more intrigued by playing for Houston, possibly because of their roster and probably more because Houston has a better tax structure. Adrian Wojnarowski quotes two sources close to Carmelo who “insist the Knicks have been overstated as an object of his desire.” But wait: Isiah Thomas totally talked to Carmelo, and he told Isiah he was coming! And everybody always talks to Isiah first, before they do anything else, right? Sigh. Shut up, Isiah.
