Blått kompass la ut dette på nytt
Artificial intelligence in aquaculture and marine industries 🐬 A few weeks back, I gave a talk at the ocean conference Blått kompass followed by a lively panel discussion. Here are some key takeaways: • The primary application of AI technologies in this sector currently revolves around data analytics. 📊 There are few AI systems in this area that actually have an impact their surroundings, which means that the most common technologies here are not covered by the AI Act's definition of an "AI system". • Technologies in this sector that are covered by the definition of an "AI system" in the AI Act are mostly low risk applications, which means that few AI Act requirements apply to them✅ (🐟 fish don't have privacy, and it's not considered a serious harm if we misdiagnose some of them.) • As the reliance on autonomous operations will increase, technology needs to be aligned with the objectives of the Norwegian Marine Resources Act, aiming to promote habitation and employment along our beautiful coastlines. 🌅 • As in other areas, data quality and data sharing will be the key drivers for successful AI implementation in the marine sector🔑 Photos by Jørn Berger Nyvoll
