Fish welfare and sea lice are two of the biggest challenges that the salmon farming industry must solve. We are starting to see results of our efforts – with significantly improved survival and sea lice control 🙌🏾🐟! 👉 Our strategy is to keep the fish longer on land before we transfer it to the ocean farms (called “post-smolt”). This requires significant investments in land-based farming capacity 👉 In our Rogaland region, where we have piloted our post-smolt efforts, 65% of our fish groups in 2023 did not need any sea lice treatments, and mortality on our large post-smolt is approximately 50 percent lower than the average in the production area 👉 In a few years, all of our fish in Rogaland will be farmed with this production method. We aim to have the same results on all of our fish in the region! 👉 We are also working to gradually roll out this technology in all of our farming regions Learn more at NRK (in Norwegian only) Tytlandsvik Aqua AS

As part of our work with Global Salmon Initiative (GSI), we’ve recently launched an ESG feed risk assessment tool, developed in collaboration with World Wildlife Fund (WWF), that addresses a key challenge in agricultural sustainability: the current lack of transparency in feed supply chains. By fostering greater transparency, the tool aims to help companies identify and mitigate possible ESG risks, leading to more ethical and environmentally friendly practices. This represents a significant advancement in responsible sourcing within the animal feed industry, serving as a blueprint for other animal protein sectors to follow. For a deeper dive into how this tool is driving industry-wide accountability, we encourage you to explore the WWF case study here: https://lnkd.in/dwFmnVg3 Read the full press release here: https://lnkd.in/d9wciJ4B
