Company Description

Our client is one of the Ten Licensed Producers for the ‘Controlled Cannabis Supply Chain Experiment’ initiated by the Dutch government. They are one of 10 companies to be the first in Europe to grow recreational cannabis legally. For over 20 years Dutch coffee shops have been supplied by the black market and drug dealers. To stop this, my client has been given a license by the government to cultivate recreational cannabis and supply the coffee shops in the Netherlands with cannabis, that has been legally grown in the Netherlands. This is a full-time role, as the experiment will last 5 years.

Role Overview:

The company currently has around 25 members of staff and is looking to scale up to 60+ over the next 12 months, therefore they are now looking to hire an excellent Head of HR to join them on their journey, who can work in a fast-paced start-up environment.

We are looking for applicants who are excited at the thought of building something from scratch and being able to create a HR department exactly how you want to. You will not be micromanaged in this role, but instead given the keys to the whole of HR, therefore we are looking for people who really want to have an impact, are proactive, and have the knowledge to shape and create an HR department.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Create HR Principles for all HR procedures, including internal documents for everything HR
• Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the overall business strategy.
• The 'go-to' person for personnel, including onboarding and looking after
• Strategically build a team around you
• Manage and lead the HR assistant, and future members of the HR team
• Develop recruitment and staffing processes to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
• Foster a positive workplace culture and promote employee engagement.
• Address employee grievances and mediate workplace disputes
• Provide guidance and support to managers on performance-related issues
• Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations

Qualifications

• Track record of working in HR. Open to different levels of experience.
• Experienced in either Recruitment / Staffing / Talent acquisition / Hiring
• Bonus Points of start-up experience but not essential
• People person. Someone who enjoys speaking to people
• Bonus points for experience in companies that have grown very quickly

Compensation & Benefits

• 80,000-110,000 Euros Salary
• Pension

• Office-based with the opportunity to work from home 1 day a week and two days past probation
