This certification reflects our dedication to high social and environmental standards, with transparency and accountability at the core of everything we do. At CityHub, we aim to reinvent how urban spaces in cities are used to ensure a smart use of space and a more responsible stay. All our locations are in repurposed, previously-vacant buildings, significantly reducing emissions and community disruption associated with new construction. At CityHub, we don’t have rooms. We have Hubs: playful, modular and comfortable sleeping units where travellers can unwind and recharge after days filled with new experiences. Creatively designed by Studio Überdutch to maximise comfort and style while minimising space, each Hub comes equipped with a king-size bed, smart storage solutions and mood lighting - all packed into a third of the space of a standard hotel room. This allows us to lower our carbon footprint but also offer a unique travel experience. Our guests have the freedom to customise their Hub by choosing either a top or bottom bed placement, adjust the light settings to match their mood, and connect to Bluetooth to play their favourite tunes via Hub’s bluetooth streaming system. Making a difference together 🏠🤝 As a business, we know that our purpose extends beyond our commercial operations. We have a responsibility to support and uplift the communities we serve. At CityHub Rotterdam, we're happy to partner with local charity GiveMe5 to help improve the lives of those experiencing homelessness. From October 2023 to March 2024, we provided accommodation for four GiveMe5 participants, offering over 300 nights at our Rotterdam location. Two of the participants have already successfully transitioned into permanent housing, and we look forward to welcoming more people who need support. It's inspiring to see the impact created when businesses and charities join forces for a shared purpose. We never skip fun and interactive CityHost Academy sessions 🎓 Our CityHosts are the heart of CityHub and we strive to create a diverse and friendly work environment where they can thrive. To ensure exceptional service at all our hotels and to keep our CityHosts motivated, we regularly organise CityHost Academies – engaging training sessions that are both educational and enjoyable. Every quarter, we get together for an evening filled with learning, games, and connection. After a brief update from the manager, there's always an entertaining quiz to test our CityHosts’ knowledge. We wrap up the evening with drinks, laughs, and a team activity. Quarterly Academies are a great opportunity for our CityHosts to bond over learning and fun.
