#FlashbackFriday On June 27, 2024, TEMPLARS hosted the third edition of #ExperienceTEMPLARS, it's annual open day. Over 700 applied and 50 exceptional law students were selected to explore the commercial legal practice at TEMPLARS' Lagos office. The event included panel discussions, debates, a tour, and insights into the firm's legal practice areas. Congratulations to Chukwudifu Jason Okoli, who received the TEMPLARS Legal Education Endowment Fund and a Letter of Employment, and to Ayanfeoluwa Aina, Blessing Nwankwo, and Collins Chukwuonye for earning partial law school endowments and future internships. The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) has released a draft of its proposed Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Fees Regulations, 2024. These Proposed Regulations aim to set fees for the issuance and renewal of licenses, permits, and approvals, impacting midstream and downstream petroleum operations. Key Highlights include revision of application fees, revocation of existing fees and introduction of a new fee schedule. This Client Alert addresses the extension of the deadline for the registration of Data Controllers and Data Processors of Major Importance (DCMIs/DPMIs) by the Nigeria Data Protection Commission- NDPC, from 30 June 2024 to 30 September 2024. Based on this extension, DCMIs and DPMIs have additional time to comply with the registration requirements and avoid the risk of liability for non-compliance. The notice outlines specific criteria for DCMI/DPMI designation and mandatory registration, with associated fees varying significantly and non-compliance leading to substantial financial penalties.
