Why is MediaTek continually launching the same Dimensity 920, rebranding it as 1080, then as 7050, over and over again?

This is exactly what I am thinking of. 920? 1080? 7050? The three of these are just the same to me, and it is like a factory-overclocked version of Dimensity 900, but all specs are the same except frequency.

Even though I’m an expert, it's becoming really tough and complicated to keep up with the MTK naming conventions. Maybe I should just bypass MTK altogether. I was excited for a while because it seemed like MTK could give Snapdragon a run for its money and provide competition, but I think I was mistaken.

It's only a rebranding of the Dimensity 1080, literally all of the specifications are the same, hence there is no difference in performance including gaming.

How many times do you want to rebrand your dimensity series? Mediatek: YES!

MediaTek doesn't seem to be working too hard nowadays. They just mainly focus on their flagship SoCs. They ignore Entry to midrange SoCs obviously. They've been trying to rebrand since the Dimensity 700 series, and now it's more visible. As far as I can see, Dimensity 7200 is the only new SoC. The remainder is just renamed with big numbers, even in the 8000 series. Also, two new SoCs dimensity 8020 & 8050 are rebranded versions of 1100 and 1200.

it's just for camera improvement. The next ARM architecture may be based on ARM 9. That's why it's taking time to implement it.

All tech companies changed their priority from innovation to deceiving customers with marketing gimmicks.

What is Mediatek doing? It's the same performance as the 920 and the 1080.

Faking and cheating the consumer with cheap tricks and naming styles with higher number series.
