One thing you guys should know is that A17 pro should not be underestimated. In as much as SD 8 gen 3 has more GPU performance A17 has more CPU performance due to the way Apple optimize their software. But I still prefer SD 8 gen 3 for hardcore gamers cuz it has overall slightly faster performance than a17 pro. And Apple has been making processors that has been better than most snapdragon processor, that I'll have to admit. Peace 🙏😁

LMAO. What delusion? Did you see the graphics performance difference? Snapdragon wipes the floor with A17 in terms of graphics, not to mention the lack of a cooling system in an iPhone, which throttles the performance after 5 minutes. How many console games does the iPhone have? Like 2? The only reason it has them is because they were released on ARM-based Macs. Since Macs now have a glorified mobile chip, they are inter-compatible. That iPhone is going to choke before it can run any game better than Snapdragon.

Honestly, I don't why there is so much hate on this comparison, but I know it will never end. Both phones are great phones, and you can never go wrong with any of them, so it is strictly preference but for me, I had a better experience using the Iphone specifically with apps. Some claims I see here, like the Iphone throttles got me thinking okay, but when does this happen cause I'm an avid gamer and I have never experienced it on the iPhone as well as the Samsung, and the battery life issues are just absurd. I used to persecute apple for their outrageous prices on their products in the past and I still do but not for their phones and laptops anymore since premium phones such as the S24 fall on the same price tag. And you guys are right, most people go for iPhones cause of social class and all, but do you think they are getting less for what they paid. First off, let me start by saying the better on the galaxy phones. ANDROID, it is a much better operating system to IOS in terms of features, IOS is just too boring honestly. The second will be the CAMERA, for me 90% of the time I prefer the shots taken on Samsung phones compared to the Iphones. The Iphones do seem to capture more details and information that can be used to edit these images later on but I still give it to Samsung, this is strictly preference annd only applies to the default camera apps they provide. But in terms of performance and battery life the iphone takes these categories. Ever since the Iphone 13, the battery life on these phones have been better than their competitors and you can get these phones and test them yourselves, they are also youtube videos and data online to support my claim and this is due to the power efficiency of their chips and IOS optimizations. Speaking of optimizations, it is also the case for performance, I know the values shown here shows the galaxy phone dominates but it's not always the case in real world performance. (I will be replying to this)

iPhones are highly rated, typically due to their association with the Apple brand. Seeing that logo can make someone want to purchase one, even if they can't quite afford it. However, I personally prefer the Nexus, mate. iPhones often appeal to individuals who don't have a strong understanding of software.

Deathwisher, yes snapdragon 8 gen 3 does support it I play it on a samsung s 24 ultra and it does very well I play on ultra realistic graphics and I benchmarked it it hit around 60-90 fps for comparison that is like playing on a ps4 which averages in about 60 fps so actually better but it will drain your battery a little bit more and will be a little bit hotter the temp of playing it at max fps is around 39 to 40 degrees Celsius or In Fahrenheit around 100-104 degrees so if your fine with playing on a little bit hotter device but you can push it to the max and hit around 120 fps I haven't benchmarked how hot it gets yet or its battery drain but most likely will hit around 113 Fahrenheit

It's not as fast as it's made out to be, so now I prefer the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 because it doesn't throttle too much. The Apple CPU has a lot of throttling issues, which I don't appreciate. Patrick, Apple phones being good is a fact, and this is also true for Samsung, Xiaomi, and Huawei phones. I think you get the point. What this guy expressed wasn't that Apple phones are bad, just that Samsung ones are better, which is also a fact. Aside from hardware, Apple's software does the equivalent of selling you a house with no windows to avoid UV damage, no knives and scissors to prevent cutting yourself, and only allows people they approve to step foot on the property after they agree to give them a 30% cut. So here's an actual opinion if you want to debate something. What I've said so far were straightforward, undeniable statements. I would recommend an Apple phone to a grandma who wants to communicate with her children and is not technologically savvy. For everyone else, I would recommend an Android. Depending on their use case, there is more than one model at each budget level to choose from.

Patrick, On what basis do you make this claim? In terms of processors, Samsung is superior; not only is Apple's A17 chip weaker, but it also heats up considerably fast. When comparing screens, the iPhone still falls short of Samsung. Yes, the iPhone has better charging than Samsung, but is that your sole basis for this claim? So, you criticize Apple and yet you support it? How does that work?

For example, take the iPhone 15 Plus, equipped with an Apple A16 Bionic, and the iPhone 15 Pro Max, equipped with an Apple A17 Pro. From what I've observed, the Plus seems to perform faster and smoother, suggesting that iPhones can easily degrade performance.

What are you talking about? The battle between Samsung and iPhone has not been as clear-cut as you propose. Your statement that "Samsung has significantly outperformed iPhones in the past few decades" is not entirely accurate. Just a few years ago, iPhones significantly outperformed Samsung in terms of battery life. This has been highlighted by tech reviewers such as Mrwhosetheboss and PhoneBuff during their reviews of phones from the S20-22 series. When it comes to camera quality, it can go either way, depending on the reviewer's preference. Samsung might have a slight advantage due to the vibrancy of its results, which some find more appealing compared to the more subdued but realistic output of iPhones. However, in any case, the competition is not nearly the landslide victory for Samsung as you seem to think.

The a17 Pro is just optimised for the iPhones and the ios so It could be so powerful in gaming and complicated activities because both software and hardware are so matched on the other side the qualcomm processors are used in many types of phones and they could match themselves with every phone which they used. I think the snapdragon can be used even in a iPhone but the apple processors can't. In this case I give the point to the qualcomm and it's lovely processor snapdragon. Thanks for reading.

Snapdragon processors genuinely outperform Bionic processors. However, the issue lies with phone manufacturers and Android. The Android operating system is more intensive than iOS, and brands use various user interfaces that aren't fully optimized. Moreover, they add needless features, bloatware, ads, etc., which further degrade performance. It's indeed unfortunate for Snapdragon, even as the company is putting its best foot forward; it still remains dominated by Apple because of these Android manufacturers.

I must point out, the Apple A17 Pro stands no chance against the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. So, how could we possibly expect it to outperform the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, considering its laggy performance? It's not as if I'm just highlighting all of the A17 Pro's shortcomings. The phone contains a supercomputing chip Q1, which inherently boosts its AnTuTu scores. Even though it possesses a flagship chip, I reckon this is essentially a 'binned' chip utilized to reduce costs. By 'binned', I'm alluding to the fact that some semiconductors underperform due to minor flaws or complexities experienced during the fabrication process. This binned chip wouldn't perform at the same level as the original one. This is the reason why iQOO decided to incorporate the supercomputing chip Q1, to enhance the performance of the 'binned' 8 Gen 3. A flagship chip also has the ability to produce raw power, which consumers essentially pay for, in addition to quality hardware. However, remember that a high AnTuTu score doesn't necessarily indicate a powerful device. Sometimes, phones can have a binned processor and include a 'cheat chip', like the supercomputing chip Q1 in the iQOO 12, to provide auxiliary support. In simpler terms, the supercomputing chip can be viewed as a sidekick to the hero.

Apple CPUs, despite potentially having a higher clock speed, are always slower than Qualcomm CPUs. This is because their clock speed is locked. I wouldn't expect the Apple A17 Pro to outperform the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, seeing as it couldn't even surpass the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The Apple CPU is significantly slower.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra could potentially outperform the Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max. However, when considering the upcoming Apple iPhone 16 series, which might feature an advanced cooling system, it's hard to say for certain.

Are you referring to upcoming models? Apple just released the iPhone 15 series and Samsung is set to release the S24 series in a few days. Comparing the Apple 16 series, which is almost a year away, to the current S24 series seems like an odd argument. The reality is that the S24 series will likely outperform the iPhone 15 series, and we should accept this.

Nitin, I have used both iOS and android. I’m iOS at the moment due to my work paying for a 15 pro max 100% and I’m enjoying it, but the s24 ultra finally blew the doors off of iPhone soc. It’s not even close. Now real world use we will see how bad apple lost this year. Love both operating systems but looks like I will be transitioning back to Sammy next year, let’s see what Apple pulls out of the hat. They need to put a cooling system in the phones. Also keep in mind s24 is 100$ more than apple flagship. These prices are getting crazy. My work will buy me an apple phone every year so I took advantage of that this year, and as good as the phone is it just lacks those top specs and feature you get out of Samsung flagship, makes it hard to stand behind apple unless you buy a phone not knowing or caring about specs.

Dj 3, To be honest, you can always find a more affordable, high-performance phone. There are phones out there that perform somewhere between the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for less than 400 dollars. Alternatively, you could opt for a used flagship. It doesn't always have to be the absolute cutting edge. After all, most people simply don't need all that power.

Devan, Indeed, the Poco X6 Pro is currently the reigning champion in the budget category. It's equipped with the Dimensity 8300 Ultra chipset, just slightly inferior to the SD 8 Gen 2, yet almost equal in performance. However, the best aspect is its cost-effectiveness; it's quite affordable considering its power, especially as it's a new release. To be honest, I don't see the necessity of buying exorbitantly priced phones given the current state of mobile gaming and other mobile features on offer. It's not as if we can run AAA or other demanding games right now, or use software for tasks like animation, game development, or rendering. Given the choice, I'd rather invest that money in a capable PC instead of wasting it.

Gaming phones, like the RedMagic 9, also feature an overclocked 8th Gen 3, similar to the one in the S24 Ultra. These gaming phones have advanced cooling systems and typically surpass the performance of the S24 Ultra. The 8th Gen 3 CPU for the Galaxy, when overclocked, will be slightly more powerful. In terms of GPU, Geekerwan gives us something to look forward to. If it's clocked at 903 MHz, it could attain a score of 5170 in the 3DMark Wild Life Extreme test, outperforming the M1 iPad.

The Apple A17 Pro handles graphics-intensive tasks, especially 3D object benchmarks, much better than others. Certain data points may show inaccurate timings, but when it comes to stress graphics, Apple clearly outperforms all other chipsets.

That's very true, however, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 still looks very promising. It's definitely going to be a top-tier chip, however, I personally don't think it will outperform the A17 Pro, knowing that it has raytracing support and how Apple optimizes iOS so that the chip can save power and run as fast as possible.

Alex, LOL, it annihilated the A17Pro in both ray tracing and GPU performance, with an overall efficiency of 30% 💀. The A17Pro's ray tracing performance is a joke - it's faster than the 8G2 for about 10 seconds, then it falls behind in sustained performance. And yeah, even Apple's tight optimization couldn't save it this time. Their highly-optimized games, Genshin and Honkai Star Rail, are performing much better on the SD 8G3 by far.

Anonymous, The A17 Pro runs Genshin Impact at a resolution of 740p, while Xiaomi's 8 Gen 3 on the Xiaomi 13 plays at its display resolution of 1220p. This is considered class-leading and only uses 3.9 watts of power. This is largely because the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 outperformed the A17 Pro in the Geekbench 5 multi-core while using less power.

iOS stomps Android, So the EU is making laws solely to make some, I mean, Xiaomi 14 or something, to overtake Apple? That is of no advantage to the EU. Chinese phone manufacturers will be the one who receive the benefit. This will also arguably buy time for Huawei Kirin chips to stand up again.

xiaomi supremacy, What do you mean by "Kirin chips stand up again?" These chips have always stood out, even in 2023, despite being last released in 2020. They didn't produce another chip due to their affected market after the US ban. This led other nations to also sever ties with them. Because of this, their goal shifted from producing new chips to ensuring they don't lose their existing customers. This is why they are working on ingratiating their customers with Harmony OS. The chip is not always the primary factor contributing to a satisfactory user experience. Most of the time, it's the general public's misguided perceptions about technology. With the right architecture and optimization, any device can provide a satisfactory user experience regardless of whether it has the latest, fastest, or most efficient chip. So, I'm still unclear on what you mean by "Huawei chip stand up again." With their 2020 chips, Huawei's new phones can still provide a top-notch user experience.

GTG, What I'm implying is that if the competition between Apple and Qualcomm persists without a clear victor, it could afford Huawei more time to enhance their next flagship, the Kirin 9100. Consequently, they could cease using Snapdragon chips entirely, even in their budget and mid-range models, substituting Snapdragon 680 with Kirin 720 and Snapdragon 778G with Kirin 830. Such a transition could prove advantageous for Huawei's sales to consumers with gaming requirements. While daily user experience can be ameliorated by optimization (consequently, Harmony OS 4 appears to function quite well and seamlessly on Mate 40 and Mate 60), achieving maximum FPS in games without compromising each frame's image quality demands minimal raw CPU horsepower barriers. This is something that Kirin 9000S or its predecessor, Kirin 9000, are yet to accomplish in high-demand games like Genshin Impact. In addition, this shift would offer 5G capabilities to less pricey Huawei phones. Thus, consumers who do not need or are unable to afford a flagship model could also enjoy Huawei's 5G technology, which outperforms that of Apple.
