  • Celebrating nearly 300 Prasarana retirees, last night was a heartfelt tribute to the incredible dedication and unwavering loyalty of those who have uplifted Prasarana to a world-class public transportation operator.   Our President and Group Chief Executive Officer (PGCEO), Mr. Mohd Azharuddin Mat Sah , delivered a moving speech, expressing his profound gratitude and utmost respect for our retirees. He acknowledged their invaluable contributions, not only in their years of service but also in their continued commitment to the company's legacy. Their dedication is the backbone of Prasarana's success.   Encik Azharuddin emphasized the irreplaceable value of our on-the-ground staff from Rapid Rail and Rapid Bus, acknowledging how deeply they will be missed.   Mr. Harpajan Dhillon, a Trainer for Rail Electrification and Power Distribution Systems, beautifully encapsulated the essence of lifelong learning and sharing. He reflected, "When I joined Prasarana in 1997 as a young man, I thought I knew everything. But it turned out, I only knew 5% of what I needed to know. The remaining 95% I learned here at Prasarana. As a trainer, I believe knowledge should always be shared. Once a cikgu, always a cikgu."   A special mention to Harigaran Bharatham, Ph.D., Group Chief Human Capital Officer, Puan Chai Yoke Fong, Group Chief Financial Officer, and Mr. Amir Hamdan CA(M), FCCA, Chief Executive Officer of Rapid Rail, for personally handing out appreciation gifts to our retirees.   To our retirees, thank you for your unparalleled dedication. You have set the foundation upon which we continue to build and grow. Your legacy will forever be a part of Prasarana's journey.   #Prasarana #Retirees #LegacyOfExcellence #AdvancingMobilityEnrichingExperiences

  • In line with Prasarana’s broader corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts, we recently hosted 31 children from Pusat Jagaan Cahaya Kasih Bestari (PJCKB) in Subang Bestari, to an excursion on the rail network into the city centre. Apart from experiencing the train rides, the children were also educated on the public transportation system, including reading the transit network maps and purchasing travel tokens. Through this meaningful CSR initiative, Prasarana hopes to have provided the best experience to these children while raising awareness on the benefits of public transportation. As the main operator of rail and bus services in the Klang Valley, we remain committed to our mission of offering the best service possible to promote public transportation among Malaysians, while also taking a more active role in engaging with the local community and those in need. #Prasarana #AdvancingMobilityEnrichingExperiences

  • At Prasarana, the health and well-being of our employees and their families are our top priorities. We are pleased to have offered free influenza vaccinations to all our employees and their families. So far, we have administered over 1,300 vaccines to our team members and their loved ones. This initiative is especially important for our frontliners, such as bus captains and station operators, who interact with the public daily and play a crucial role in keeping our operations running smoothly. By ensuring their health and safety, we are also protecting the community at large. Healthy employees are more productive and efficient. By preventing influenza outbreaks within our workforce, we can reduce absenteeism, maintain high service standards, and ensure seamless operations. This contributes to a more resilient and effective team, ultimately benefiting the entire organisation and the communities we serve. We still have two more vaccination events coming up, at Rapid Penang and Rapid Kuantan. Let's continue to take proactive steps in safeguarding our health together! A big thank you to our Compensation & Benefits team and the Human Capital Department for rolling out this initiative. #Prasarana #EmployeeWellbeing #HealthFirst #InfluenzaVaccination #Frontliners #AdvancingMobilityEnrichingExperiences

At Prasarana, our Brown Bag Sessions are designed to foster knowledge sharing and professional growth among employees. These sessions provide valuable insights and practical tools to enhance workplace skills and awareness. In Episode 3, "Embracing Resilience with a Mountaineer's Mindset," we were honored to have Datuk M. Magendran, the first Malaysian mountain climber to conquer the summit of Mount Everest. Datuk Magendran shared his incredible journey, highlighting the importance of teamwork, rigorous training, and meticulous preparation. His 2.5 years of intense training, including a 30-day stay in the Indian mountains and advanced ice climbing courses in New Zealand, emphasized the value of resilience and commitment. His core message revolved around the 4Cs: Concrete goal, Confidence, Commitment, and Consistency. As he wisely stated, "We were not competing with anyone but ourselves. Competing with our minds and bodies." Datuk Magendran reached Everest's summit on 23 May 1997, followed by Datuk N. Mohanadas. They were part of the historic "Malaysia-Everest Project 97," a testament to human spirit and collaboration, jointly organized by the Malaysia Mountaineering Association and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Malaysia. Datuk Magendran's values of resilience, teamwork, and commitment are directly relevant to our work at Prasarana. His story inspires us to embrace challenges with a mountaineer’s mindset, ensuring we continue "Advancing Mobility, Enriching Experiences" for our community. #Prasarana #BrownBagSession #MountEverest #Resilience #Teamwork #ProfessionalGrowth #AdvancingMobilityEnrichingExperiences

We have made history by donating two decommissioned Light Rail Transit (LRT) carriages to be sunk to the seabed of Tioman Island, creating the first LRT artificial reef in Malaysia, in an effort to sustain the marine ecosystem.   In addition to supporting biodiversity and promoting the tourism economy in Tioman Island, it also aids in the conservation of marine life for the future.   Through this significant event, Prasarana contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 14: Life Below Water, furthering global sustainability efforts beyond the commitments of Prasarana’s Sustainability Action Plan 2023-2030, launched in December 2023.   The project, one of Prasarana’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, was successfully carried out in collaboration with Yayasan Al-Sultan Abdullah (YASA) and was recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR).   The LRT train carriages donated by Prasarana were among the first two used on the Kelana Jaya Line since 1998. These trains were decommissioned in October 2023.   The two carriages were transported from Kelana Jaya Depot to Sinar Tioman, Kuala Rompin. Inspections and professional advice from the Rapid Rail technical team were also provided at Sinar Tioman.   The MBOR launch ceremony, The First LRT Coach Reef in Malaysia, was officiated by Kebawah Duli Paduka Baginda Sultan Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah, at Berjaya Tioman Resort.   Also gracing the event were Kebawah Duli Paduka Baginda Tengku Ampuan Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Binti Almarhum Sultan Iskandar Al-Haj, and Kebawah Duli Paduka Mulia Tengku Mahkota Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Ibni Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.   The sinking of the LRT train carriages at a depth of 18 metres at the Al-Sultan Abdullah Dive Site, Tioman Island, was executed by 60 professional divers led by Yang Amat Mulia Tengku Panglima Raja Brigedier Jeneral Tengku Amir Nasser Ibrahim Shah ibni Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah. *Special thanks to Gaya Travel Magazine for the additional photos #Prasarana #AdvancingMobilityEnrichingExperiences #FirstMalaysianLRTArficialReef #Environment #MarineLife #CSR

Two decades ago, in July 2004, Rapid KL underwent a transformation and rebranding after inheriting the bus assets and operations previously owned by Intrakota and Cityliner (Park May) as well as the STAR and Putra light rail transit lines, and also took over the monorail operations from KL Monorail System.   Rapid KL began its operations with only two rail lines and 49 rail stations, as well as 179 routes for bus services. Today, Rapid KL's operations have expanded to five rail lines and 147 stations, including the Monorail network, LRT Ampang & Sri Petaling Line, Kelana Jaya Line, and also serves as the operator for the MRT Kajang Line and Putrajaya Line.   Our bus network now covers 265 routes around Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, including the BRT Sunway Line service that uses electric buses in its operations.   Rapid KL, which has now become the main choice of public transportation mode for residents around the Klang Valley, carries an average of over a million passengers a day for both rail and bus public transportation under its management.   As a leader in public transportation, Prasarana focuses on enabling infrastructure and delivering top-notch services. We take pride in managing a seamless journey through our integrated Rapid Rail and Rapid Bus systems, connecting millions daily. .................................................... #RapidKL20 #RapidKL #RapidRail #RapidBus #AdvancingMobilityEnrichingExperiences #Prasarana
