MPC Status Page
Current MPC status
This page describes enhancements to and problems that have occurred
with the MPC's webpages and scripts and the fixes that have been
made. Resolved problems will remain in the Older MPC statuses
section below. This page will also try and give advance notice of
the unavailability of these services due to network maintenance.
Unless otherwise indicated, all times on this page are UTC
times.

| The MPC's main web server will be down for maintenance around 10:30am on 25 January 2024 | This is an advanced notice that the MPC's main web server will be unavailable for a brief period of time on 25 January 2024 around 10:30am local time (15:30 UTC) for maintenance. During this time the MPC's website will be unavailable, and submissions will not be accepted. Please plan your schedules accordingly. | Postgres Database Replication Error | Replication of the MPC's postgres database to external users is performed via the Univ. of Maryland’s Small Bodies Node (SBN). The SBN’s postgres server is experiencing problems (that started around 2023-12-03 08:11 UTC) that are preventing external users from receiving replicated data. | MPC Submission Receipt Restored | The MPC has now restored the server used to receive and process submissions sent directly to "https://minorplanetcenter.net/submit_obs", "https://minorplanetcenter.net/submit_xml" and "https://minorplanetcenter.net/submit_psv". Observers who would like to submit their observations to the above urls are welcome to do so. If any problems are experienced or any unusual behavior is observed, please let us know via our Jira helpdesk: https://mpc-service.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portals We emphasize that the MPC is still experiencing other problems with our public server, in particular those services that require data from our public-database.
